Weird as I'm not registered.

Obviously just a very special boy like my mam says?

Anywho here it is.

Manchester City Council has issued a tender for site investigation works to take place at the Sportcity site in East Manchester.

The selected contractor will work with New East Manchester as the council prepares to bring what chief executive Sir Howard Bernstein has promised will be a “world-class leisure destination” to the site.

The site investigation services are required “to inform the design of a separate proposed contract”. The works involve the investigation of the site's geologic make-up and “other scientific prospecting services.”

The contract runs for three months and the city council is increasing its budget by £250,000 to pay for the works, via a grant from the NWDA.

Several options have been linked to the site, which was set to be the home of the UK's first "super casino' until Prime Minister Gordon Brown pulled the plug on the scheme.

Manchester City FC's new owners have held exploratory talks about plans for the area.

Another option on the table is a proposal by former Everton FC director Paul Gregg to build a similar leisure venue to the proposed casino without such a prominent gambling element — focusing more on entertainment.

A House of Sport for elite athletes has also been proposed by the city council, which is expected to make an announcement on the future of the site before the end of the year.

Be interesting to see what comes out of it but "world class leisure destination" and East Manchester don't really go together do they?

Disneyland Clayton just doesn't have that certain je ne sais quoi.

Ha.

Cant be any less welcoming than the French, surely?

'Peux je vous protéger monsieur de voiture?'
