Be interesting to see what comes out of it but "world class leisure destination" and East Manchester don't really go together do they?

Disneyland Clayton just doesn't have that certain je ne sais quoi.
Never heard of Belle Vue then....
Used to spend many happy hours there. A great loss.

Cheers, fbloke - a great spot. Would be very interested to know what is proposed such that they need to spend a quarter of a million quid on "the investigation of the site's geologic make-up and 'other scientific prospecting services,'" with a view to informing "the design of a separate proposed contract". Suppose we'll find out in due course.

However, the plans for the Supercasino were fairly well developed because they had to be for the bid for that, so this would seem to indicate that there's more to it than merely a reworking of the casino plan with less floor space for gambling (the Bill was never passed in its original form, so something of htat size would now be illegal!) and other leisure elements ramped up. Wonder if the plans also cover a greater area of the Sportcity site than originally envisaged for the supercasino.

start at the curry mile, down to picadilly, past the hilton, down to the belle vue dogtrack, up back round to levenshulme, down to parrswood and back up through didsbury to the finish?

pmsl.

not as daft as you may think though - our owners have just built one in Abu Dhabi in record time and both Donnington and Silverstone over here are fooked.

considering our owners also own a percentage in Ferrari then you never know.....

Having had a night to mull this sort of stuff (and being boring enough to do so) It must be a bit frustrating for HRH and Khaldoon that they dont have control over what is going to happen next to the stadium.

Does anyone else think its not going to be ideal for City to be next door to a Cinema, Casino and Aldi come match days?

Hmm ponders the future......

The Monty Carlo of the North?

It would make one hell of an impact on the one way system and bus lanes mind you.
