City eclipsed......Not in my eyes....

The media and "fare weather" brigade are almost bursting in their love-fest for those lot at the moment; SAF re-building a new team, young age of the first eleven, every acquisition of the highest standard slotting into the "OT way" etc etc.

Sycophants the lot of them.

Not exactly Dad's Army ourselves but nobody wants to hear that.

Worst thing I heard was David Pleat during the match pretty much saying this United side are the new Busby Babes... for fuck's sake.

Doesn't surprise me though....said to a guy in the pub after our match, you just watch Utd go for Arsenal big-style to try and steal thunder.

The performance at Spurs is as good an away performance as anybody will see this season. After going in to the weekend top, win 5-1 away and drop to second is a little disappointing to say the least.

Keeps our feet on the ground and keeps us focused for the next match. Not a bad thing. The league this season may come down to the match ups between us, United, Chelsea & Liverpool in my opinion. It's better for us if the press continue to wank over United, no doubt the BBC will mount a campaign to have Ferguson's face built into Mount Rushmore now he's kissed and made up. I'd rather we go about our business low key.

Arsenal were absolutely appalling yesterday, the worst defending I have ever seen in a premiership game.
I know they were short in numbers but that was ridiculous, and my first thought was how many would we have scored against them.
We have got to come to terms with the fact that the rag loving media while utd remain at the top ,even if they had struggled yesterday to a last minute win will always be onside with the devil.

I watched the draw for UCL last Thursday .... they brought bobby charlton out to do the second pot draw ..... the introducer talked about when he won it in 68 and "all the tough times two years earlier" in a veiled reference to Munich which took place TWELVE years previously. Bobby went on to mention Munich FOUR more times in two minutes.

It's over 50 years ago - will they never stop.

And while I'm at it .... Let's hope the FA do treat them like sh1t as their curmudgeonly manager suggested.

Great performance by City at WHL.

back in the 90's we beat Huddersfield 10-1 at Maine Road ...... Our kids were criticised by the press for being naive and disrespectful to the opponents .... there is nothing new in press taking an ignorant swipe at us

Let's hope the players all come back injury free.

Cheers

That arsenal performance will go down as their worst in recent history, regardless of the team sheet. Had to laugh at gunners fans praising the young right back because " he kept running all game", yes he did up the pitch and 30yards out of position! Where the he'll was the leadership? Who was organising? I am sick of all the sympathy towards wenger, he has created the squad and the lack of depth is his fault for not buying players to replace the ones that are leaving. injuries are an excuse, the eleven that went to the swamp should have performed much better and been better organised, they were embarrassing.
City's result is a miles better result, at least spurs tried!

The Arsenal starting XI was awful the averge age must have been about 20, half of the team I hadn't heard of and they missed the penalty that would have got them back in the game, but I think our 5-1 has more merit to it than the scums 8-2 as we actually played a full strengh team, we played a hell of a lot better in general and Dzeko performance was a lot better than Shreks in my opinion anyway
But the bias media will always run to the scum instead of us even when we are the better team on the day and deserve more praise

Agree with the last post. I noticed that as well. They can't help but have a dig. I also agree with other posts. Bugger the lot of them. City fans can just enjoy our performances and lets wait for the headlines after the october game at the swamp.
