City fans in the Celtic end next week

I find this extremely unlikely. More likely to have asked for more rather than send some back.

We got 2700, we could have had 3200 but the club declined the extra 500 because, I am led to believe
they did not feel they could distribute this amount from the Hotel/Portakabin /Tesco's or wherever, which we are still waiting news of.
Absolute joke.

I'd advise against this for a whole host of reasons, but then again I plan on doing the exact same when I head down to Manchester so I have a cheek..

Police/stewards will refuse entry to anyone they suspect arent Celtic fans in the home end, the closer this game gets the more likely I think there will be trouble.

That's nice to hear..

Our Orange 3rd kit will go down well with them. On another note I know Rangers fans who won't eat peas because they are green and Celtic fans who won't eat carrots as they are they are orange, feckin nuts
This is one you may have been thinking of?

I've had a yernited' fan text me that we've sent back tickets for this fixture, can anyone confirm this is bollocks?

Ridiculous. We only got 3000 they sold out at high points. I reckon we could have sold 10,000

This is just yet another myth that, as usual, spread like wildfire on social media until it became the truth.

And how are they going to do that?

Ask punters to name all of the Lisbon Lions? Frisk everyone who doesn't smell of Buckfast?

I have worked in Glasgow for the last 20 years and have lived in Edinburgh for 30 years, I can't see any issues as long as people are sensible. There are loads of City fans who live in Scotland and Celtic fans who live in the North West. It is going to happen regardless of stewarding and police

Regarding the return leg, most European matches at the Etihad have visiting fans in the home end. Juventus last season had supporters all over the stadium despite the visitor's section being less than half full. Apparently, they could only get a ticket from Juve if they bought an expensive hotel/flight package, so most got tickets from City.

I hope the police and stewards do try to stop our fans getting into the Celtic end.

I was in the south stand at our ground last year in the City seats when it got very nasty as it became apparent there were BM fans in our midst.

The trouble is that all it takes then is a couple of other idiots getting involved (of which there are plenty at all grounds) and innocent people end up getting hurt.
