City Fans Leaving Early/Empty seats

Left 5 minutes early on Saturday.

Beat all the traffic.

I can see why people do it. It's very tempting. But I just couldn't do it on a regular basis.

Especially those that leave 10 or even 15 minutes before full time. Really, what is the point of coming to the match in the first place, especially when the game is still firmly in the balance?
I drove a couple of hundred miles to get there on Saturday. At 81 minutes with the game won, me and Mrs S legged it to the car. First time we have left early. Result - instead of 50 minutes to the M60, it took 13. Downside - we missed 2 goals. Did make the drive home 3 hours rather than 4 though. On balance I wouldn't do it again as it didn't feel right.

Maybe it is the introduction of the metro link that has made the problem worse.
Cannot remember it being as bad pre metro.
SS3 there was a lot of empty seats all game. That was the worst I have seen any stand for years attendance wise for a League game.

I wouldn't leave early as it's something I've never done.... probably because I want value for my season ticket lol, but in all honesty I think part of the problem is that the metro going back to Ashton is a fucking joke.
After every game it's the same issue with single unit trams and none on stand by ( although after rag game and palace game there were double units albeit a long wait for tram after palace game)
I find it strange that as soon as a couple of fans start to leave it's like a signal for loads to say it's fine to go now, worst part of them leaving is that they get part way down the steps and stop to watch attacks...ffs if you are going then hurry up and stop blocking everybody's view.

You can believe that's the number of tickets sold (including seasoncards) - it doesn't mean that number of people were in the ground.
It's not even the number of tickets sold. It's the number of tickets distributed. So the club could give away 5,000 tickets, most of which aren't used, yet all those free tickets would count as part the published attendance.

There's several seats where I am in 302 that available and not taken by SC holders. What I've noticed, particularly this season is the ever increasing tourists taking these seats. Thing is, many arrive and offer zero support to help enhance the atmosphere. Many are too busy taking pics to instantly post on FB Twitter and the like. Two next to me had no idea we'd scored at least one of our goals till the crowd erupted. They remained in their seats almost oblivious as to what was happening on the pitch.

I got there 10 mins before KO and missed Silva's goal as I also missed first 15 mins due to security checks ( but that's another topic).
Those two johhny come latelys missed the first 20 mins, spent most of the match(they were actually there) engrossed in their phones to then leave on 75 mins.

I really don't know why some 'fans' bother going tbh.

People have argued on here when a game has been tight like the derby and people have left early. We then have a game that's dead and won and they complain at people leaving then too. So basically regardless of the score you should be tied to your seat until the final whistle.
