City Fans Leaving Early/Empty seats

Left right after the fifth went in.

We arrived by Metro and didn't fancy running halfway around the stadium and queuing to get home, so caught the buses across the road.

Set my stopwatch for future reference.

7mins into town. Ran across the road on the off chance an Alty tram might be turning up (unbelievably it was) lad was back in his bed for 10.31pm and his mum was placated on a school night.

in total - door to door, about 45 minutes.

Just can't stomach anymore taking the car and getting caught both ways for Regent Road roundabout and Mancunian Way.
I'm in 304 and need a stick to get about if I'm walking over 100 yards. Left my seat at the final whistle. Down the spiral and walked to the 216 stop the other side of AT Way. Got on the second bus (I'm a very slow walker), and got off about 5 stops up the New Road, and walked to my car 15 yards away. Parked up outside my house in Woodley at exactly 10:30.
I've never left before the final whistle in my 59 years of going to matches, but I can appreciate and understand that others do for their own reasons. I get there early (1 hour plus) before the match, so I can find a (free) parking spot close to the bus stops on the New Road, and don't bother these days with a drink until I get home. And there's no queues getting in.
It suits me to do this.
Chacun a son gout.

The genuine reasons like crazyg above (who actually stays!)are obvious and varied. However, the most common reason for leaving early, if people were honest with themselves, is they don't want to park further than a mile away from the stadium. It's laziness.

In my experience and the majority of early leavers I know, it's correct. I'm by no means saying that is the reason for everyone but I'd be interested to hear a cause more common than not being prepared to park further away and walk.

The obvious one and which is said often is traffic, I know many that leave early AND park far away, their logic being by the time they get to the car most will just be leaving the ground and they have a quick getaway.

If they parked even further away they could turn around as they arrived at the stadium and be home even quicker. A question of priorities.

Which is exactly that, priorities not laziness as you first said. If leaving 5-10 minutes earlier gets people home to their families anything up to an hour earlier than staying then no problem. People wanting to be home earlier to get to bed for work the next day, even some might want to be home earlier to watch highlights who knows. The people leave to save themselves time as they might have a life outside of football.
