We (and Chelsea and Liverpool) get an extra £3m or so if Arsenal lose tomorrow according to a financial chap on Twitter. I wonder what is better - that or Arsenal with the extra responsibility of Champions League, making it harder to rival us for the title.
Would they not drop into the Europa League anyway?

They would, but they can play the stiffs in Europa while the Champions League always calls for full strength unless you luck into getting one of the few really wank teams in the competition.

I dont know. Personally hope they drop out, means that they'll have less money towards transfers and they seem to be loosening their purse strings.

Also even if they play half strength the bench would have few 1st teamers and the travel on thursday nights should take its toll too. They also have injuries already (giroud and arteta).

It also means more money for us and better probability of us having an easier group as well as easier knockout opponents.

Its a win win.

I hope no-one minds me posting this here, but I wanted the FFP experts to see it and it might not be spotted in the General forum...

But are the scum going to be finding themselves restricted by FFP? I know they are a big and supposedly rich and profitable club, but looking at their accounts, they are making losses after finance costs and only got pushed into credit in 2012 and 13 after tax credits. Over the last 5 years, they have made a total loss before tax of £40m, and in their best year made only a £12m profit.

They are spending huge sums on plugging the holes in the rapidly sinking ship and I wonder if that can continue? I know they aren't in the CL this year, but should they get 4th, is all this spending going to bite them?

Not really mate, they'll get at least an extra £55m or so from BT and Adidas, more than covering any missing CL revenue and their wage bill won't be too different with Wio, Evra and Vidic (all high earners) leaving the club. If the slide continues they'll find themselves in trouble but it wouldn't really begin for a couple of years yet, their revenues are too high.

It's called desperation. If they don't throw money around they will be mid-table for sure and the whole stinking rat-infested shit hole would come tumbling down. Don't forget their huge sponsorship deals will reduce dramatically if they don't get back into the Champs League ASAP.

I for one would get together with Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool (plus Everton and Spurs) to hatch a plan to make sure that happened.
