lets go to war and make it the most expensive legal war in history

perhaps they'll borrow the money to fight the case, what with debt being such a good thing and all

fuck them

Re: City & FFP (continued)

PSG paying tens of millions as a fine? Juliens Laurens was obviously correct in what he said about PSG on BT Sport the other day

If we have to pay say ten million pound in a fine then what is the point in FFP? Platini wants to fine a club a ridiculous figure for making losses exceeding their law, so how does fining us ten million for example help us balance our books?

The squad reduction would be brutal if you ask me, that probably would have repercussions on our transfer dealings in the summer and could affect morale in the squad if players have to be left out of the competition they most likely joined us for to play in.

"As revealed by the Telegraph"

Wasn't the mythical transfer embargo also "revealed" by this greasy red twat, who has been retweeting Gary Neville's passionate tweets about United today?

I have tried to engage in this debate in as reasoned and principled a way as I can. That seems to me to be the approach that best suits a complex and important subject.

But when I see pictures of a sweaty fat fuck with a dodgy Tache appear in the thread, and am asked to give serious consideration to his opinions, I confess to finding it difficult.

I agree. There's too many Neville Chamberlains on this board. We clearly can't trust UEFA as they are merely puppets of the G14.
They are making the rules up as they go along and now is the time to fight. If they are already questioning our business model
for FFP rules then we'll never be allowed to reach our potential and yes eventually Mansour will get bored. We have been in dialogue
with them for years and we were confident that we would pass,If we accept this forget signing Messi: any deals we would do with
sponsors would probably be outlawed and we couldn't register him for the CL anyway so he wouldn't come. Fight or go back to
being "liddle old Citeh." FUCK THEM WE FIGHT.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

So far this is all speculation, right? I mean a Telegraph journalist making guesses based on what he's read in the media about PSG... Which may also be false anyway.

If the PSG story is true, and we don't know that it is, we don't know if UEFA have offered us the same or some better deal... or a worse one. And if the PSG story is true, it can only be because PSG are OK with it as they are even more minted than we are.

Let's see how this all looks when we have some reliable info.

Not sure PSG are richer than us. Depends how you measure it i suppose.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

I for one am truly touched that so many big clubs are so worried about our financial stability. It's really reassuring that they all want to make sure that we don't get ourselves into any financial difficulty by overspending, as obviously that is their only intention in establising these rules. I wonder, will the money collected from fines for breaching FFP be used to help clubs in financial difficulties? That would be truly wonderful and really reaffirm UEFA's message about the purpose of these rules. So nice to know that so many outsiders care about our well being

For every Neville Chamberlain there's a 7th Earl of Cardigan.

Or Pyrrhus of Epirus.

Pyrrhus's casualties were actually less than the Romans it's just that he didn't have as many men.
A bit like the Battle of Jutland which was a tactical victory for Germany but a strategic victory
for Britain because we had by far the bigger navy. Financially we out gun UEFA.

As for Lord Cardigan yes. he was a mad bastard, charging the Russian guns but sometimes you need
a mad bastard in charge. Any sane person would have sided with Lord Halifax in negotiating a British
surrender after Dunkirk. Luckily we had a drunken lunatic running the country at the time.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Its now bing reported that the usual suspects have lobbied Platini and UEFA for the specific punishment of CL Squad Limitations -

This is important for two reasons, firstly if we do receive the punishment favoured by other teams and it can be proven then the evidence is mounting against both FFP and UEFA.

Secondly we can see that stopping City (and PSG) from progressing in the CL is deemed so important to the cartel that they will do anything they can to stop us.

Interestingly the Russian clubs that were once a threat no longer seem to be. I wonder how that happened?

Zenit's owners, Gazprom, gave UEFA a giant sack of money to sponsor the CL?

Re: City & FFP (continued)

European Cartel not happy about the new Middle Eastern boys in town splashing the cash.

It's all about keeping the status quo as it is, nothing about grassroots and protecting the integrity of the game. UEFA are in for a big surprise, these aren't wealthy fools, they are very astute business men and they will have been prepared for every eventuality.

Bring it on Uefa.

And what large football tournaments could have landed in their lap?

If only someone was around to heavily fine them, everything might of worked out differently
