I have three questions about these new proposals:

1. Has Platini ultimately played a blinder by wrestling power away from the old G14?

2. Has Platini recognised the shift in the balance of power in football, as the real businessmen at clubs such as City and PSG are set to dominate with their debt free model? Surely he would rather cosy up with Khaldoon than Ed Woodward?

3. Is Platini a bumbling idiot who is hopelessly bouncing from one rule change to the next?

OOOH I know this one! the answer is number 3

The answers to numbers 1 and 2 are also number 3

Nothing would make me happier than watching the sh**-eating grins from the swamp wiped off their faces but I will believe it when I see it!

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Imagine how the Dippers will feel. On the verge of failing FFP anyway then they get the added bonus of debt going against them as well.

Have Aresnal got any debt?

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Again, more smoke and mirrors from UEFA. Why don't they just fucking admit they've fucked up by penalising a heavy investment/no debt model in favour of the no investment/high debt model?

I'll only take the crooked bastards seriously when investment losses are remoived from FFP and the original model of tackling wreckless debt is restored which endangers the very existence of clubs.

Manchester City Football Group should be held up as a paragon of virtue and not pursued like lepers infecting the colony of Europe because we choose to invest our own money to further our business.

Another point is how will this effect Dupont's case if the FFP waters are muddied with the introduction of debt? Will it be a case of either all of FFP stands or it all falls, or can the parts deemed anticompetitive be surgically removed from FFP leaving all the other parts in tact?

I still see all this FFP bundling as UEFA's last ditched desperate attempt to save FFP by diluting it with other issues. Also the question still remains....... Why now?

Just under £100m of it, although as they are repaying about £30m a season it's going to clear up faster than the scum's will.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Something must be happening in the background that we don't know of. That telegraph article is quite pro-city, maybe the club is doing something about ffp and now briefing the media about it?

I'm not really sure punishment for debt will actually happen. Clubs like barca and real madrid are untouchable. If there's any punishment probably will be just 'a pinch' that looks big but actually is nothing. Just like how barca signed suarez with transfer ban.

1) I believe so.
2) I believe so.
3) not really, but he may be relocated to a different role once FFPR fails, but I fail to see how UEFA cannot see the inevitable, we are a business model that every rich investor will want to follow.

Exactly. The relevant quote reads;

"Gianni Infantino, Uefa’s general secretary, said: “We’re now focused on losses and to repay the debt is part of the loss that the club can make at the end of the season. But, certainly, the question of debt is something that can be put on the table.”

It "can" be put on the table, but I suspect it won't be.

I'd have thought Barca and Real Madrid will see to that.
