Ain't this the truth.
My guess is trying to stop politicians owning football clubs in a different country.
They'll try and that's for sure.

That's fine, we're owned by Royalty.

City & FFP (continued)

Good that Dalglish and Shearer have said what they did but can't believe it's taken so long for real impact of FFP to trickle into mainstream.

Well I can because certain clubs control media and agenda. Thank god for Samuel.

It'll be a handicap system like horse racing with our players having to perform with lead weights strapped to them & one of those rubber resistance training bands around their thighs to limit their stride length.

It also pleasures me that those clubs who voted for FFP have now become victims of it themselves. They thought our spending would have had to stop immediately & that they would quickly catch up & surpass us squad-wise whilst we were tied up in the FFP financial straight jacket...... How wrong they were.

Whilst we still have to work within the confines of FFP, its effects came too late to stop us & at best all FFP did was slow our progression for 2-3 seasons. As for the likes of Liverpool & Spurs, they have no more Bale's or Suarez's to sell so their revenue will now have to come from TV rights, match day income & sponsorship at the levels of clubs outside of the CL.

It couldn't happen to a nicer set of people & my only regret is that Arsenal managed to sort themselves out in time to slip the FFP noose.

We are all eager to be challenging at a higher level. Whilst the popular view may be to spend money in excess of earnings or find a philanthropic investor to fund transfers, those scenarios are simply not possible under the new world of Financial Fair Play rules whereby clubs can only spend revenues generated through operations.
Levy wouldn't spend even if he could. Joe Lewis could have long ago turned Spurs into a top four team but chose not to do so. Sod all to do with FFP.

Their net spend over the last 5 years is the lowest of all current PL teams at -£22m.

Is it likely that this lack of spend will end because the next season will bring even more riches to the lower placed teams (as well as the top teams).
Perhaps most owners will be happy to just stay in the PL rather than compete meaningfully for top honours ?
