City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

The Neymar thing will defo bite them on the bumcheeks.
I think the Mbappe loan will be the clincher. Uefa have already said that, since PSG are contracted to buy him, they will backdate the purchase price to the date of the loan. Er, i think they are making new rules up as they go along, again.
If they do that, wait for an unholy row.

Why should it concern anybody. They have the money, let them spent whatever the fuck they want.

Agree. we get shafted on sponsor with uefa looking at them for fair value. What will do teams in premier though is the premier league ffp which Gill an dhis henchmen rushed through.

Exactly, they rushed it through not thinking their rules impact all the clubs, including United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs.

We have money coming in from the same TV deal and can run the club without taking a bean out of it.

Another part of FFP2.0 is being implemented, threatening to deprive CFG of one of their sources of income, basically destroying the business model installed by Txiki and Soriano.

The executive committee will debate new measures in October, after meetings between FIFPro [the players’ union], the European Club Association, the World League Forum and former stars such as Cafu, Zvonimir Boban, Edwin van der Sar and Marco van Basten.
According to France Football, one of the measures being considered is the reformation or even scrapping of the loan system.
The idea behind loans is to allow young players to develop with lower-level clubs, but world football’s governing body believes the system is now being exploited.
Big clubs are signing up large numbers of young players, only to loan them out and then sell them for a profit, often without them ever playing for the first team.
France Football points out that Juventus have loaned out 41 players this season, Udinese 27, Chelsea 22 and Manchester City 18.
As a result FIFA is considering bringing in new restrictions on loans, or even scrapping them altogether.
Hits Chelsea more than us.
Anyway, If it is brought in the easy way round it is to sell players with sell-on and buy-back clauses.
Most big clubs would want to allow 20+ players to be loaned out. So the level will be set pretty high.

Yep teams now have to sell before buying to keep there wages under control.

I always liked the idea of money for transfer fees over a certain amount coming with a tax to go into a central pool, to be delivered for the benefit of the game?

Instead of trying to stop clubs spending, simply add a sliding tax scale on the amounts - over £50m - ten per cent on top goes into UEFA central pot - over £100m - 20 per cent into the pot

Between £25m-£50m - five per cent. That will keep a lid on a lot.

UEFA would then distribute the money fairly, obviously taking into account historical success.

A kind of Tobin tax on transfer fees. I like the idea.
