I think, tbf, the ESL represented a pretty significant change! It shows why the ESL stuff was being forced through. They're scared of change.

2008 wasn’t it ?Don’t normally do this, but can we change the thread title please. Football didn’t start in 1992.
And when does the negotiation start for increased revenue on stadium name and shirt sponsorship?A rough calculation shows that our revenue will be around £537m against theirs of £464m, so we're nearly £75m ahead of them. Their matchday income is around £100m, whereas ours is around £55m, so that in itself doesn't help them. They went out the CL group stage whereas we got to the final but the season before, where the Europena competitions were delayed, they weren't in the CL at all and even though we only got to R16 (when we lost to Lyon) much of the money forthat will be included in these accounts.
So the current financial year could be close, depending on our respective CL performances. But if they don't get top 4 this season the 2023 FY should see us ahead again.
Or burying it in the sand/skewing an article to headline something else/adding irrelevant data from previous years to make a particular club look bad… and generally avoiding the big takeaway from it, as reported by the FT
Bayern Munich were the only top European league champions to make profit in 2020-21
Bayern Munich were the only champions from Europe's top eight leagues to make a profit in 2020-21 as the coronavirus pandemic hit European football, a report has revealed.www.bbc.co.uk
Unbelievable Jeff!
It depends. In theory there should be a virtuous circle but not at Man Utd where City panicked executives into buying the likes of Pogba, Sanchez, Maguire and Ronaldo. And then there's their wage bill, debt repayments, dividends to the Glazers...Do you get cups for turnover?
Turnover in all businesses is a dick measuring ego trip, profit is king and success on the pitch is all that is important.
Simple!“Although City's revenue increased, the club also recorded a net spend of 294m euros on transfers” how is this possible.
Net was circa £40 m this summer & circa £75m 20/21. How have they got to £250m net spend??
Sadly the rags still make profits, their team is sh1t and long may it continue. It depends.
