City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

I find it hard to understand how united are earning the same or less than us, yet they're able to at least match our transfer spending whilst they also have a higher wage bill and service their debt and pay out divis to their owners and all other shareholders.
The answer is that going forward this can't be sustained. That's why this important. Historically Man Utd could pay the top wages and buy the most players because they generated the biggest surplus. Now they do not.

We should however note that the two clubs are at different places. City just got to the CL final, and won the league. Utd are struggling on the pitch and can still match our financial performance.

Correct. Winning trophies or getting far in Europe has always generated a lot of money that’s why the rags have had great turnover under fergie.

We drop out top four don’t get far in cup competitions our money would drop by at least 70/100m

We've always been told by their fans and some in the media that them and Liverpool made their money "organically" by being successful.

Yet those same people seem incapable of following their own logic that we've made money since the takeover by being successful.

Yep funny that rags turnover has dropped some since they been winning nowt yes Covid had effected them like it has with most club.

They don’t get top four this season that’s a massive chunk of money they going to miss out on.

The rags and dippers both had human tragedies (RIP) that boosted interest in their Clubs, in addition to their football successes and past owner investment.

I am encouraged that there seems to be a bit of a buzz returning around City. This is a very small sample but our coach for Saturday’s game is sold out and membership numbers for our SC Branch are higher than ever.

We’ve been playing great football but the most enjoyable win was arguably an exhausted City finding a way to beat the Gooners. We are also seeing the development of a very exciting homegrown talent in Cole Palmer. (Most Blues have probably mastered mobile ticketing by now too).

We are never going to get the backing of the £multi-billion communications empires like the BBC, Sky and BT. It’s up to a combination of us the fans and the Club’s administration to grow the Club.

I think if we can finally kill off the outstanding Premier League witch-hunt it will help quell the unremitting allegations of "cheating" although I realise it is in certain clubs' interest to keep it going as long as possible.

True NN. The Prem defy justice by pursuing us on FFP allegations when we have been cleared by higher authorities.

That said, we’ve got great opportunities to build our support with the Fulham game being a Saturday 3pm kick off and tickets will be relatively cheap.

More people who deferred might feel a bit more confident to return too.

I think the only people with a current amortisation of £0 should be players who have come through the academy.
Players such as Ferna and zinchenko would still have some amortisation.

For Ferna no, his contract had expired so effectively he would have been signed on the latest contract as a free agent with zero transfer fee hence no amortisation.

No idea about Zinchs contract
