City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

There is no point arguing with fans of other clubs on these matters it's similar to playing chess against pigeons.......

Even when you beat them they just strut around shitting on the board pretending they won anyway.
substitute "brexits" for fans of other clubs, and the analogy is uncannily accurate. Check-mate.....

I can think of several good reasons why Pearce and Khaldoon might be on our board short of ownership. I have made the point before that influence and ownership are different and I prefer "influence" to
"arm of..etc".
Anyway, I have it on good authority that @Damocles is still an argumentative twat. PB was certainly not dishonest, but could have expressed himself better in his original post about it.
Even argumentative twats make some good points, and there are plenty of them on here (argumentative twats, not so many good points) :)

@Kinkys Left Foot that has to be one of the best descriptions of ags, dips etc after they have been shown up to be fools.....

Personally, I have no idea who we are owned by. I celebrate the football that we have and the players that we are lucky enough to watch. The trophies that we win are a bonus but I get more pleasure from watching a local lad break through to the highest echelons of the game. It is all temporary, but my love for City isn't, wherever we are in the league.

So we're "effectively" state owned, ran by the executive council and an arm of the government but you're pretending the Queen owning horses is the same.
I actually think it’s a good comparison. The Queen purchases her stable of horses with her own funds. The purchase is made for her own interest and pleasure. She does it for sporting pleasure and to win races and enjoy commercial success. She employs trusted advisors to look after things for her....
ok the sponsorship model is different between the two sports but there is no doubt that the Queens patronage of race horsing brings in significant sponsorship.
it’s also an argument that is easily understood.

If you don’t mind mate, I will use that one. Brilliant.

Hmm ‘the Queens own money’. Many people would take issue with that concept and believe that the Queen’s riches and lands truly belong to the people of this country.

This is not an argument for this thread but when you look at the City situation in this light the comparison made looks much more similar, though not in the way the poster meant.
