City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

Re: City & FFP (continued)

The Chief Sports Reporter of the PA has said we've been given the same punishment as PSG so it's been leaked by us or UEFA.

Man City's FFP sanctions: 21-man CL squad instead of 25; 60m euro fine over 3 years; no rise in CL squad wage bill allowed. Same as for PSG.

No chance we're going to stand for that. This is going to get fun :)

How can anyone argue with a straight face that £35 million p.a. to sponsor the shirts, ground and training complex for a club of our current stature is overvalued?

To suggest such a thing and truly believe it is straying into the mind of the psychotic.

They aren't. They are suggesting that £40m a year for a club of the stature we were in 10/11 is overvalued.

I mean they're still wrong and the Etihad deal is absolutely nothing to do with this FFP issue any more but that's their point.
This monitoring period is for 12/13 and 11/12 mate, it's not relevant and it's none of their concern what our books were like in 10/11, they're definitely acting ultra-vires if that's the case.

I know, but that's what their argument is.

Sanctions are part of settlement offer from UEFA - Man City still long way from agreeing, have until end of the week.

Sanctions not been confirmed by either party, but obtained via sources. L'Equipe also running PSG sanctions today.

We only have press speculation re anything UEFA have done regarding City.

For all we know, it could be that they have tried to reach a settlement & City have told them to fuck off & either drop the lot or we'll see you in court.

Can I just ask how the hell fining us millions of pounds will help us balance our books ? I thought the point was to stop clubs from slipping into financial turmoil but fining massive amounts will surely ruin clubs and put them in debt ?

So fuck them, we should take it to court, they haven't got a leg to stand on here.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

I think UEFA have f****d up big time but they won't want to be made to look fools by any club so they will not want a court case. IMO there is some behind closed doors talking going on hence the reason there have been no statements from anyone that confirms or denys all the speculation.
