I would advise Mr Platini not to travel by tunnel in future when trying to get around Paris!

It always gladdens the heart to see an old soldier who's really sweated blood for his medals.

The good Sheikh should show off his Premier League, FA and Capital One Cup medals ;)

You forgot this one:

Although I've heard he's described it as "quite uncomfortable to wear at times".

Should have worn the FA Cup lid on his head.

No announcement = Negotiations underway.
Which means UEFA know they're in trouble but we're reasonably happy to let them try and save some face.
It seems to make sense that if you're the rule-maker, who also operates in a quasi-judicial capacity, as UEFA unquestionably do, operating strictly within your own predetermined deadlines is an essential component of imposing your will on that particular process.

No news is good news imo.

Agreed, no news is good news. If UEFA wanted to be TWUNTS they would say here's how we're going to f' City and that's it ! Without any update there must be ongoing negotiation and that can only mean the 'penalty' will be less than originally leaked ?

agreed, its obvious uefa are bricking it, if they we so sure they would have dished out the penalty,

Re: City & FFP (continued)

If FFP is going to work, the UEFA is going to have to find a set system of penalties. Like a written set of rules that if you cross, you get bit.
Anything else and you are going to have people in arms that's it is a selective process. I am sorry but, penalizing a bigger club 20 million owned
by a richer group of investors, against a 50 million dollar fine against a lesser club, and with no due process of any kind of law.
Any lawyer in the world could make a case just by pointing to the joke that was Barca and Chelsea's charges, which can't be enforced as they are appealed?
Let me guess, we can't do the same thing?? No. Well, then you're going to court assholes!!

It's "arseholes" mate.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Given that Bosman won his case on the grounds of "freedom of employment " laws which are enshrined in the EU constitution, then could the situation arise where say , we had a deal agreed with say , Mangala ( though it could be anyone) , fees agreed with his club, personal terms agreed with the player , and then Uefa tried to place a squad restriction on City, and we were forced to tell the player that we could not include him in the CL squad, because of the restrictions placed on us, would the player not have a rock solid case under the freedom of employment regs.
The precedent has been set by Bosman and restrictions by Uefa of this kind have surely been outlawed! As a direct result of uefas actions , a player would have his rights curtailed.
This would surely mean that any sort of squad restriction would be a contravention of the law as has already been decided in court.

Just sent that picture to one of my main Rag tormentors who's hoping UEFA repossess our club as punishment for failing FFP. I sent it with the message, 'It's good to have friends in high places. UEFA & the G14 need to pick their fights more carefully. Don't go picking on a nation state or royalty. Unfortuantely for you, our owner is both!' :-)
