FFP is blatantly unfair as most of us believe. If I have £100K in the bank (I wish) and spend £40K on a car that is no problem at all. If I have £50 in the bank and spend £10k then that is more problematic. Debt should be targeted rather than spend.

Clearly these regulations exist to protect the big clubs from upstarts. I would, however, point out that we are now one of the big clubs! Not a very inclusive or fair view I know but true for all of that.

Our owners and management are not fools. In the short term it hurts a bit but in the medium term this is all in our favour - though not in football's IMO.
We should just stop all this fannying around and just take the whole damn thing to court. Judging by what we have read and heard, no-one has a clue what these restrictions mean, even UEFA.

"Million and millions of people could challenge FFP tomorrow," said Dupont, who is already contesting the FFP regulations through the courts in a case he is fighting on behalf of football agent Daniel Striani.

"The fans can do this through their associations. They are the consumers of the football product and the ultimate aim of competition law is to protect the consumers.

"They are free to join the complaint lodged by my client, player agent Daniel Striani, with the European Commission and the civil action he has launched in the Brussels court.

"They could even ask the Brussels judge to stay the execution of the Uefa FFP regulation -- and of the sanctions based on it - until he renders his judgment on the merits.

Okay, so why aren't we doing this? It sounds as if a supporters club can ask a judge to stop this.

If this is true, I'd be glad to donate.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

I was thinking about Uefa suddenly having an extra 20 million of us and 20 million of PSG. As far as I know they haven't said what they are doing with the money but I can see it from two perspectives. They are fining us and PSG huge amounts of money. If Dupont fights FFP and wins then Uefa will surely have to give that money back, so.

They have said. It goes to other qualifying clubs so presumably prize money.

DuPont is right UEFA are confident because the clubs are scared. It will take another Bosman.

This would be hilarious and put Bluemoon on the map forever. Would take a bit of organising though. Any Bluemoon lawyers out there? :-)

UEFA can't be that confident seeing as they accepted a watering down of the sanctions. I'll bet the G14 lot expected more than a 2/3rds suspended fine, a largely ineffectual transfer and wage cap and one season CL squad reduction.

Ah right ok, cheers, didn't realise they said it was going to other qualifying clubs. You'd think it would be fed through to grassroots maybe, but no it goes to the clubs who are already making a mint out of European football.
