I still do not understand the following.

If we buy a player and he is not in our euro squad ( we cannot have any one else anyway unless we take a player out) does the purchase still Count against the FFP laws?

I can understand them (uefa) having a moan about the club/team in europé but if the player bought is not involved in the eufa cups whats the problem.
No, but then again which top player would sign with the proviso that he can't play in the chumps league?

Di Maria did.

I accept it's an issue, but honestly signing a player in January who can't play in the CL would mean he misses what, 2 games? We all hope for more games than that of course, but realistically unless we win the whole thing he's not missing much is he.

I can see some players might be prepared to miss out for half a season with the promise of CL starts from next season and beyond.
True enough, I'd forgotten Di Maria. That said the original question was does the purchase still Count against the FFP laws? in which case the answer is still 'no'. ;)

I'd do it. :)

So lets clear this up once and for all ..IF we need or IF we wanted to spend ( lets joke here) 70 or 100 million on a player to help us with the EPL . we can do ...........and uefa/ FFP can do NothinG about it!

Well we dont need to worry !then.

See NYC will buy snider hehe.. they may lend him to us... hahaha if Frank has an injury

We can't increase our overall wages bill until next season at the earliest.

The other clause in the Settlement Agreement that should not be overlooked is "Manchester City agrees to significantly limit spending in the transfer market for seasons 2014/2015 and 2015/2016."

I know this would seem at odds with our statement saying we expect to be operating without restriction in the 2015/16 season, but one interpretation of that might be that we were not planning on spending big anyway and therefore we are not being restricted in practice.

Sorry to come back yet again..i just want to be sure i understand this, IF we buy a player and he is NOT REPEAT NOT part of our Euro squad .. We buy THIS PLAYER to secure a League win yet again.. ( nothing to do with europé ok) Then wages and transfer fee are irellevent to FFP..

Like Another poster said for one or two games so what.. then in the 2015/2016 we are in the black profit wise..

No, that's not how it works. City's wage bill isn't linked to Europe, it's linked to the players they employ. UEFA look at the club as a whole and not just players and revenue from European competition

This is the one concern that I have, it's in there as a statement. There must be some agreement in place but nobody seems to know what.
obviously the club know and will be planning for it but I suspect we wont be able to go throwing money at the top targets next year either.

Oh, he's a top player, alright. Some might even go so far as to say he's a top, top player; although, he'll never be a really top, top, top player until he sorts his wing mirrors out. Literally!

It's funny. I haven't watched as much football this year as I have in the past. I don't know why.
While I enjoy watching Ciy's CL matches the amount of league matches has gone down. UEFA
and FIFA political the l craziness may be part of it of the reason why. And getting up at 5 AM every day.
If somebody took time to explain to me explain what City's position in FFP is and the legal
options and ramifications available, I might be somewhat more focused on enjoying the sport itself.
I am an American who put up with derision and persecution of American football fans everywhere
(for loving City.) I just need legal knowledge.
