But we didn't dispute it; we accepted it - won't that go against us in any 'claim'?

No, because we've never accepted FFP. We don't recognize FFP.

Pleased to read it!
I wasn't sure on the wording of what the club had and had not actually accepted/acknowledged about FFP tbh

And its not just the £49m they screwed us over for ... there's a matter of restriction of business, if FFP went tits up for UEFA and was deemed illegal I'm sure our lawyers could go to town but I expect owners would take a more pragmatic approach and be happy to put it behind us happy in the knowledge they can invest again ......

We were still fined £16m (€20m) even though we complied. still perhaps that's a good thing as we probably would have taken Falcao on-loan with to buy last summer.

Fuck Liverpool, it doesn't matter how much they deny it, they are no longer relevant to us.
Spurs and Everton are their rivals.
I'm more concerned their mates let them play in their game without fining them, unlike us

It's no surprise though is it. FFP was aimed directly at us and to a lesser extent PSG.

FFP was aimed squarely at us. PSG were collateral damage.

My biggest gripe isn't the fine we received, but the reduction in our CL squad to 21.

Same here, the block on increasing the wage bill pissed me right off as well.

I guess it's the cynic in me that wonders if there isn't some bad financial news for an "established" club on the horizon. It makes sense to penalize City but they wouldn't dare do it to one of their own.

^^^^^^^^^^^this....no doubt Gill has tipped them off that Ushited may be in breach come the summer window^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

As others have said on here, the thing that pisses me off is we could have spent upwards of 100 million this coming window, perfectly in line with the FFP framework. EUFA couldn't have done a thing about it other than say we were perfectly entitled to do so because we were operating within our FFP set limits. In other words we had taken their bent rules, and through solid management and good business practice, completely trounced them.

Now if we spend that amount over the summer, the "pundits" will again label us "money bags City", splashing the cash indiscriminately, and the recognition we should rightly have received for legitimately turning our club into a new footballing behemoth will me missed.

I suppose though, on reflection, the good news is we definitely ARE now a legitimate footballing behemoth, and with even more spending power than before.... I can live comfortably with that.

Happy days.

:-)

Does anyone have any details of this 'easing' of FFP rules and will UEFA the f*ckers give us our £49m quid back the robbing tw*ts ......

Makes me wonder if someone has been tipped the wink that the legal challenge to FFP could be upheld under the current rules??

According to The Times "changes to FFP are highly unlikely to go so far as the PL's financial regulations which allow for losses up to £105m over a 3 year period".

Perhaps not as radical a change as some might be expecting?

Strange half their darlings and mates own clubs that are in the shit. Fuck you platinni if you dropped dead i wouldn't even post in your stinking R.I.P thread you spineless c**t. Fuck the g14, if they all went out of business tomorrow and all the owners died horribly i would be happy.

although a little harsh i understand this. i hate cheats, more than anything i hate cheats. platini is the biggest cheat in the game, he is a cancer we need gone.

I expect nothing less than our £16m to be returned with interest and a public apology from UEFA which would include an acknowledgement that they were entirely in the wrong, that their actions were illegal and that they have paid compensation to us for a) besmirching our good name and b) hindering our organic growth.

Good luck with that one. The line is that it has worked so well that now they can tone it down a bit!

You'd think clubs like Spurs would be glad about FFP being relaxed, but then you have to factor in the levels of bitterness, jealousy and delusion of your average Spurs fan.

Utd would have been favourites to win more often than not if Chelsea and later City had not been finically supported to the extent they have , but IMO this is way more palatable to having two smaller clubs skip the queue and give everyone else the finger on the way past.

What a horrible bunch of bitter deluded cunts.

The massive London Club without a league title for 54 years, never even been close to winning it since then either.

Made there name winning FA Cups beating shit teams like Watford along the way.

No bigger than City and never have been yet they look down there noses at us.

Bitter jealous bastards

Most of those types of clubs are. Personally Id like to move West Ham and some of the non-Prem teams out of London then burn the entire city to the ground. We would lose nothing at all in football terms

Funny how they complain about all of this when Alan Sugar was their Chairman

It's nothing more than sanctimonious bullshit - if Abramovich had bought Spurs instead of Chelsea then that poster would've been singing a completely different tune. It also shows a lack of knowledge about his own club's history because their double winning side of 1960-61 wasn't exactly bought for peanuts.

They wouldn't have been saying this if Abromovich had bought Spurs instead of the Chavs, which was the original plan. I look forward to the day West Ham become the third biggest club in London.

Spurs fans need to be reminded that they, almost more than any other club, were the ones who changed the financial side of the game.

First to set up a holding company, which allowed them to flout FA restrictions.

One of the five clubs who threatened a breakaway unless the revenue sharing agreement was torn up in their favour.

One of the clubs involved in the setting up of the PL, with Sugar giving inside information about the bidding to Sky when it looked like they might lose out.

One of the four clubs who signed that infamous letter pleading for tighter financial regulation in the PL.

And where has that got them?
