City in crisis

High line is impossible now without Rodri, it was becoming unplayable even with him. We don’t have the playing staff available anymore but what we do have is a squad that, given the chance, could sit a bit deeper inviting the opposition on then hit them on the break. Haaland, Doku, Foden, Grealish, Bernardo, Kev, Sav etc. I can’t see it happening during Pep’s reign but it would be good to see them have a go and make our defence more confident.

A crisis is when you have players painting the dressing room and threat of relegation and going out of buiness.

this is a injury hit bad spell, not a crisis

After that 2-0 game at Spurs, I genuinely thought we'd be better off if Pep left and we installed some new blood and fresh ideas. He was in the last year of his contract, we'd finished miles off Liverpool the previous season, we couldn't score goals or create chances, we got hammered by Leicester at home and then Spurs picked us off in the most predictable game possible. It all looked to be coming to a sad end. And then we did this.

We might need to wait until the Brighton game's out of the way first, but Pep has solved problems and changed this team's system more times than Soft Mick. He will solve the problem again. It'll start when we actually get some fucking players back. Rodri and Bobb being out for most of, if not all of, the season was bad enough but to lose Walker, Dias, Stones, Savinho, Doku, Grealish, and De Bruyne at the same time is ludicrous. Throw in the fact that Akanji's playing with a muscle strain and we're having to throw that Simpson-Pusey lad into defence and this shite run makes total sense.

It might get worse before it gets better but it will get better.

We had a squad size that was capable of competing on all fronts though.
Quality within the squad was also a lot higher with players sat on the bench who could come in and wouldn't make the starting 11 any weaker. Our squad since 22/23 is clearly weaker and now with players injured its showing.
No idea why we didn't sign a midfielder along with a backup to haaland in the summer, especially with Alvarez leaving.
