City In Europe: Romania!

Honourable effort though, and fair play for admitting defeat for financial reasons.

For anyone struggling, we got flights from Manc > Budapest for £180 (inc taxes etc) with Jet2. Going to drive to TimmyTown (Easier pronunciation than Timisoara) on the Thursday and drive back Friday late morning.

I think a few blues are doing this, so it should be a good night out in Budapest on the Wednesday night, and head over in convoy to TimmyTown where we'll stay overnight there.
If you are planning on flying with jet2 make sure you check in ONLINE,these twats charged us £35 each way a few months back because we hadn't checked in ONLINE

Hi guys!
This is what I wrote on another forum of tour team.

Hotels are plenty and decent, places to eat are a lot, with all ranges of prices and services. Places to drink are also a lot, the prices should be very low for you. You should watch out for taxi drivers, some will try to take advantage of you being not from here, also be careful where you exchange money, you will need money in our currency RON (Romanian Leu). Timisoara has some really nice places to visit, the old neighborhoods are nice, also our town center, some nice parks, and for entertainment there is a Mall.
I don't recommend giving money to beggars, most of them are abused people, none of the money will stay in their pockets. You may also see dogs wandering, but they should not be a treat. But most of all, many nice people, English is well spoken here.
We have an international airport near the city, the city can also be reached by train or by car.
As for the hookers, I wouldn't touch them, many are really ugly and I won't guaranty their clean. There should be some luxury hookers which tax a lot, but I have no info about that .
Here are some links regarding our town and team:

What I would like to add, it that Timisoara is in the Banat region. We are not vampires, the vampires are in Transylvania, another region.

It's a historical region, located west of Romania. Part of it belongs now to Serbia and Hungary. For a few months after the First World War it declared itself an interdependent country. But soon the Romanian troops came and annexed a part to Romania, and the other parts went to Serbia and Hungary. You should also know that we don't particularity like Romanians from the capital city, Bucharest, also from the south part of the country Oltenia, and the eastern Moldova. People from Transylvania are no problem to us.

Bye-bye!

You were charged £35 because you didn't pay for NOT checking in on-line when you booked

If you suggest you will check in on-line and DON'T then they charge you at the airport

I travel with Jet2 every fortnight Prague-Manchester

If you check in on-line, you even get a £5 off in-flight duty free (if you spend £25)

Cinx - That is very good of you to put that info on here.

I know our fans will not let the reputation of our club down and will treat your City with the respect it deserves.

I may be out there myself but in England not only are the women ugly(as covered earlier)but they also think they are in charge of things so I need to ensure my pass is confirmed first!

-- Sun Aug 08, 2010 9:38 am --

Sorry mate, I'm Phil and I don't know Graham

We have a game today at 20:00, that's 18:00 your time, with last year champions, cfr cluj, you can watch if you like, streams should appear here before the game http://livetv.ru/en/eventinfo/50764_fc_ ... uj_napoca/

Any new on the kick off time or prices?

It appears that ticket prices range from 8, 10, 15, 25, 200 and 250 Lei for league games.
Are they likely to be raised for Europe, and any idea what section we get?

I also checked uefa.com and kick off time is TBD, so not known yet, I would assume 20:00 or 22:00 local time, last season times we had EL games.
The league game prices are:
8: North Stand, 10: South Stand, were also the hardcore fans are located
15: Stands 1 and 2, 25: Stand 0
200 and 250 are VIP spots at lodges.
Prices for our game will be definitely higher, last year prices were kind of 5 times higher. I'm not exactly sure how the away fans got in, if there was any reciprocity between clubs. Anyway, check this map out http://www.poli.tm.ro/site/abonamente.htm away fans get the red spot labeled "Tribuna oaspeti", it should have approx 1600 places, that's roughly 5% of the whole capacity.

Thanks, thought they looked a bit cheap. Real Racing stuck their prices right up when we went there in Dec 2008 50 and 75 euros, however the German clubs use their normal league prices.

City lower the prices, it will be about £15/20 at the return game all seats.
