City To Strike Deal For £21m Dutch Real Star

Arjen Robben was being lined up last night to continue the conveyor belt of top stars rolling into Manchester City - with Real Madrid looking to strike a deal for the Dutch winger.
With City closing in on Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o and hoping to announce the capture of free agent Carlos Tevez in the next week, £21million-rated Robben, 25, is next on the Mark Hughes hit list.
He has spent two seasons at The Bernabeu following his £25m move from Chelsea but the ‘Galacticos’ policy of returning president Florentino Perez is likely to see him become a victim of the ruthless pursuit of success at Madrid. Despite some dazzling displays by Robben, it seems Madrid are prepared to sacrifice the flying Dutchman as they embark on another huge re-build.
Hughes is desperate to import more pace and threat into his attack while Tottenham are also keen.
But Robben wants Champions League football - or the huge money that’s tempting Tevez to turn his back on United and Chelsea .
His capture would be a huge coup for Hughes and provide City’s new-look forward line with the ammunition it needs.
