City In Talks With Dani Alves (Daily Star)

I think Maicon would be more realistic since Mancini managed him at Inter but either would be a top signing.

IMO we dont need a right back. Not if Richards picks up his game and shows he can do it and do it consistently.

We need a left-back desperately and competition for Ireland for an attack-minded midfielder.

However, Dani Alves is excellent, I watch nearly all Barca's games.

Dont see how/ why they would ever let him go or that he'd ever want to leave though.

He's overrated IMO. Maicon is far better, there's a reason he's first choice for Brazil.

I agree. He's not a great defender. He would make for a great right winger but he is far from a defender. I talked to a Barca fan recently who shares the same sentiments.

Wet dream signing for me. But Maicon is perhaps a better defensive option, Alves is as good as any winger going forward.

Only question is why? why? why?

Why would city sign him? we are fairly well covered at right back.
Why would Barca sell? Rickkhard brought him in but Pep has always picked him when fit and he works brilliant on the right with Messi.
Why would he want to leave? He is on a winning team, palying with some of best in the world and he seems loyal as f**k to the team and the club.

Alves might be too 'latin' for the EPL ala Reyes and Marc Gonzalez.
I think Maicon is more likely than Alves but what do I know?
