Pushing it a bit with Lennon I think - one of those who I don't think even made an appearance for us, but went on to good things. Along with Paul Warhurst. We had a habit of letting promising youngsters go in the 80s. Maybe they were just late developers.

Chuck the youngster Cunningham in there though - might get a start Sunday.

Lennon did play for the first team, I think - it may have been literally once, though. I used to watch the youth team and reserves a bit in those days, and I was very disappointed in the decision. He played at right back then, but I thought he looked to have something. Warhurst and Earl Barrett were two others we let go in that era who went on to have decent careers. I didn't agree with the decisions to release them, either.
