Not entirely true. At least not for a large number of people in NI who very much consider themselves Irish.

Some thinking they're Irish, others thinking they're british, I'm suprised that doesn't cause any bother?

Ha. No. And be very carefull. Some say Ireland, some say Britain, some say Northern Ireland. Just don't make the wrong mistake in the wrong place.

I've thought long and hard about this so called Irish problem and I've come up with a really fantastic and amazingly simple solution that nobody, on either side of the political divide could possibly take offence by (in fact, they'll be delighted) so I'll post it very soon, ok?

Good old Ulsterisms, more loyal than the Queen. Of course we are British yet the players play of the Irish FA.

I'm (Northern) Irish and British the same way English Scots and Welsh are British also. Some in NI may not agree but check who you pay your taxes to and what money is in your pocket.

Those in the Republic aren't British, they just want to be, judging by the TV they watch and football teams they follow :-)
