City clearly care. But consider this. What if scouts or reps of said club implied Cfg were involved. It could influence young players signing for them, sponsorship, club growth etc etc.See this wouldn't matter if clubs ditched the wank monochrome badges.
A pink n black homage badge would never be mistaken as ours under such circumstances.
Honestly who cares, no one would even know it exists if this action hadn't been taken

There is no indication in any of the reporting that that had happened and it would be a completely different kettle of legal fish to a trademark infringement. Also, any club could still do that whether they have a stripey boated shield in their club crest or not (none of the other CFG clubs have a stripey boated shield).

Memphis City also have a carbon copy of our badge but AFAIK I'm under the impression we haven't taken action against them. Memphis one being just as similar as the Chilean, and we actually operate in the US market...It's tricky though.
A Brand has to protect it's intellectual property, they can't 'let one go', else they don't have a leg to stand on down the line.
Private Eye gets a letter from the Portakabin manufacturers everytime they use the word Portakabin, because it's a copyrighted word. It gets printed on the letters page under the title 'What a pathetic way to make a living'.
Even though it's in common UK parlance (like Hoover), as no-one wants to use the phrase 'temporary moveable office building'

It is a ripoff, clearly. If City/CFG didn't fully protect at the start, it woukd be have been niaive.
There are lots of clubs around the world that have the similar circular badge. Brentford has a similar badge. The design basics between City and PSG are very similar.
But Santiago's does take the Mickey with a lot of elements being direct copies.
Tempted to design them a unique badge for free.
