City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

If that happens other clubs would be entitled to sue for damages. Clubs who had points deducted. Clubs who had to sell players to survive & clubs who were relegated.

I think that’s a great analysis, mate. City must surely have spotted some potential for this to knock on favourably into the 115 case.
Interesting piece by Kieran Maguire on Blue Sky

Those are some of the other headaches. But who cares? That's their problem. I just get the feeling there is more going on here than interest on shareholder loans.

I agree, there’s something going on but they are both aggressive & neither conceding ground. Remember the timeline between the case & the vote. Masters had to pull out of the golf day with broadcasters & it appeared they were in crisis.

Maybe. I am not completely convinced myself. I just get the feeling there is more to this than we know about.

My feelings are frequently wrong, though.

:)

Not in this instance.

Ha, yes.

While we are speculating, though, here is my guess at the final outcome:

- We won’t escape all 115 charges but will significantly undermine and erode the PL’s case.

- We’ll keep our powder dry on suing them re APT pending the outcome of 115.

- There will be some behind the scenes negotiations on their possible punishments versus our potential APT damages. And also on costs.

- We’ll accept a limited punishment and drop the compo claim.

- The rest of the world will still hate us as cheats who bought the best lawyers.

- You and I won’t be meeting up next year at Rochdale away! (Unless we draw them in the cup.)

There again, I could equally be talking bollox.

@Ric no one will answer me so I'm tagging you the big boss.
You say 'it will have to be accepted' but what happens if it isn't.
The Premier League have today issued a statement. They are insistent that the rules voted for today are legal.
If they refuse to back down after the tribunal release the full judgement, who can do what ?
Is it up to City to take them to a court ? If so which one.
Would the tribunal act ? Can they act ?
The PL have stated their case quite firmly so I can't see them backing down so what is the next step if they don't budge.
Stefan on the latest 93:20 pod seemed to say that City have won the position they want which is a return to the pre February rules and the rest is pretty much bald men fighting over a comb.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve not seen anything to suggest the tribunal (or even City) expected loan interest to apply retroactively to PSR calculations.

Void, unlawful or whatever, the clubs in question acted in accordance with PL rules at the time and would probably have acted differently otherwise.

Complying with unlawfully framed rules doesn’t equate to breaking the laws of the land.

If City are pissed off, I’m thinking it’s over some other aspect of the case.
I suspect it is the fact that the PL are not including the loans in the current three year calculation. That can’t be right, surely.

Khaldoon said we won't be made an example of clubs run badly and that we won't take a pinch for nobody.

He isn't going to give that fat twat masters and the red mardarses an inch.
