City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

Did you see Jack and Kev when they came on ? They're well off being ready, just by the timber they're carrying.
Think Pep just changed as he had nothing left to do.
Pep has said that some players can only play 45mins or only 30mins.
Stonesy went off as he comes under the above, we really are patching them up and sending them out.
I think it will be another month of not having everyone at 100% unfortunately.

I don’t know if it’s been mentioned on here already or not, but here it goes.

Liverpool fan, Lord Bassam of Brighton has proposed an amendment in the football governance bill that would prohibit owners who are heads of states, or members of an government (world wide), immediate family members of any of those, and any sovereign wealth fund.

Liverpool and their chums are not satisfied with doing the work via the Premier League, but are trying to enact actual laws of the land to prevent any competition.

Funnily enough, he hasn’t proposed any laws to force the removal of any clubs owners who have tried to form any breakaway leagues (ESL), or steal control of football in England (project big picture).

Maybe we should get a bill submitted that stops multi national sports holding conglomerates from owning football clubs.

Maybe another could stop clubs using sponsors fined over 2billion in anti money laundering.

Considering the guy who opened the reading of the bill that day he proposed that amendment is a Newcastle United fan, and a Tory who is well into the open and free capitalistic market, I’m fairly convinced he alone would vote down the amendment as it’s voted on, on Wednesday.
However the point that he’s trying this, either at the request of Liverpool FC, or taking it upon himself to do it on behalf of Liverpool FC and out his own personal gain above the bill, or the country, is nothing short of a disgrace.

The open & free capitalistic market is a myth. Capitalism is controlled by those with major capital so in this instance they’ve no fucking chance. The complaints about Oligarchs or wealth funds creating inequality is exactly how the world has designed it.

Yep. Money attracts money. Once enough is accumulated it becomes like a black hole, sucking more money. We all know the old adage that if the world was a 100 storey building, 99% of the money resides on floor 100 with the 1%.

The best the likes of us on here can hope for is to work in slavery and have a reasonable retirement out of poverty. We’re little better than battery hens.

I’m not sure how the controlling companies of Man City is made up, but I believe that one of your directors hold a position within the AbuDhabi government (not Mansour).

Anyway, from my point of view as a Newcastle United fan, this is clearly an aim at our club, and a secondary aim at yours.
There is a long way to before we can say that this clause is passed, but even if it was, I think ultimately our owners would just spin ownership off from PIF, into a private equity firm, similar to the one that owns the majority of the City Football Group.

Additionally, it is important to remember that this is in regards to the bill that will be used for the new football regulator to act upon.

In these circumstances you tend to find after legislation that it will affect a club in step 25 who has a volunteer director who is banned due to working as a Postman & classed as working for the government or crown.

It really makes you piss this that Lords use their undue influence to complain that others could use it.

Legal Ownership is not the same as having a majority shareholding in a company further up the chart or even owning the ultimate parent.
Mansour appears in City’s accounts very specifically as NOT the owner but as a person of influence. So you could regulate him out but not by pretending he is the legal owner.
Recently Mr Lewis from Spurs transferred ownership to his family after indiscretions regarding stock market knowledge.
Not the same I know but City seem to have a structure in place that protects any serious personal attack on Sheikh M..

Joe Lewis indiscretions have a more simpler description - insider trading. Very illegal indeed. He may have "transferred" ownership to his family but let's be honest here, he is the de facto owner. Typical wide boy move, Arthur Daley would have been proud of him.
