City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

I don't think we have done as well as some think in this case.
If we had they would have to change the rules very quickly and the fact their were no stories of note about the case in the Sunday papers.

On the contrary, if it was made known to the clubs that City hadn't done well, it would be all over the Sunday papers.

And, even if City had some minor successes, the rules that were successfully disputed would have to be changed or, at least, it would have to be made known those rules no longer applied.

I am still thinking no judgment has been made yet.

But I know as much as everyone else. Nothing. :)

They will or will not change the rules when a decision has been made.
Clearly a decision has not been made.

I foresee 2 stages. Had City won in full I’d envisaged a deletion of the offending clauses as they would have been unlawful. Then a process to vote on new lawful clauses in line with the decision. So no contradiction.
Why would they subject new lawful clauses to a vote? Isn't that how we got here in the first place? What if the clubs can't agree on the awful clauses and the vote fails, does that mean that APT rules would be completely scrapped?

Any rules found to be illegal would have been removed immediately (or at least made inoperative), but any new rules that replace them would still have to be subject to a vote.

It's the PL's responsibility to make sure any new rules are legal, awful or not :) If the clubs vote against the new (presumably compliant) rules, the PL has to run with just the remaining old rules.

Like I said before, if City can get a block of seven votes together, they can vote any new rules (on anything at all) out until the PL gets its house in order. Must be nearing seven clubs who want a new approach ..... the tyranny of the minority :)

Ooh you are awful.

Clearly a decision has not been made.
Maybe it has been reached and the rules per se, don’t need changing but the way they are applied will be drastically changed to avoid the racist element of associated parties from certain countries/states?

I said before the case started that we would only know through a change of rules and sackings, also that the PL may not let the members know. that is not quite right, first off we have to understand the seriousness of the charges, City in other words accused the PL of running an illegal cartel in it`s mist, City in other words accused the PL of illegal abuse racism/ anti-Muslim, and City accused the PL of illegal rules.
Two things here, the PL can not afford this to go higher, they have to settle here, they also can not afford to be seen as having lost due to the nature of the accusations.
The first two accusations are very hard to prove, but the third is a done deal, so it is important to note that voting in illegal rules is not illegal, acting on them is. The PL made itself liable when it changed the rules, but removing the data base makes these rules inoperative, this maybe the only information released, as Looney Tunes say.

Dear Deidre,
So, if you know nothing and everybody else knows nothing, why do so many people get excited, angry and shout at each other in this thread and the other breaches thread.
Thank you,
Confused 115 of Beswick.

So, to recap:

Something or nothing may have happened.

City may have won, the league may have won, it may be a split decision, or no decision has been made.

Various outlets may or may not have insider information, may be making up shite to get clicks and engagement, or are being fed misinformation by various rival club management or the league itself.

The APT rules change vote may have been pulled because APT is being changed, it is not being changed, or it has not been decided if they will change.

And Tariq continues to be a knownothing Liverpool shill **** of the highest order.

I think that is a comprehensive update.
Rinse, repeat (nearly 40 pages later).
