The Telegraph loathes our owner as currently he still owns The Telegraph. The preferred bidder seems to have funding issues so it's still all up in the air as to who will eventually buy it.

Yep, before Keegan went there I seem to remember they had a home league game against Lincoln (I think) where the attendance was less than 10k.
Sheikh Mansour is not the owner of the Daily Telegraph. He was part of a consortium bidding to acquire it.The Telegraph loathes our owner as currently he still owns The Telegraph. The preferred bidder seems to have funding issues so it's still all up in the air as to who will eventually buy it.
Love to know what the likes of Wallace "earns" for writing that. That article is quite something when you read it. Basically arguing that unlawful rules are actually justified if they hinder a team you dislike.
I'd like to think if he did own it that Wallace would already be out of a jobSheikh Mansour is not the owner of the Daily Telegraph. He was part of a consortium bidding to acquire it.

We're not going to take it
No we ain't gonna take it!
We're not going to take it anymore!
Not the case actually. Sheikh Mansour put up the entire £600 mill for a joint venture with Redbird IMI to purchase The Telegraph and The Spectator. The previous government blocked them from actually running it and passed a new law to that effect. Redbird IMI have therefore sold The Spectator for 100 mill and are looking to sell the Telegraph to recoup the original investment. The only bidder to meet this price is struggling to raise the capital to buy it so currently Redbird IMI own it. As 100% of the invested capital is from our owner you would say he owns it (but can't run it).Sheikh Mansour is not the owner of the Daily Telegraph. He was part of a consortium bidding to acquire it.
Alas, an all too common opinion. That article is quite something when you read it. Basically arguing that unlawful rules are actually justified if they hinder a team you dislike.

Good research, cheers. The last game before Kevin Keegan was Oxford United and the gate was 10,004. So, we can safely say there were less than 10,000 Geordies there. Unless Oxford have a large number of Geordie fans!
