I wouldn't know the need for a LGBT rep or rep based on ethnicity, or disability because I’m a white heterosexual, middle aged man and wouldn’t know the problems or issues faced by those groups at football grounds and wouldn’t want to claim to speak for those groups and whether they need reps that understand their issues.
If they believe they do then they should be represented by those that do understand any issues from experience then it’s good that they are. It’s not dividing us it’s ensuring we can all get the same enjoyment from going to games.
I take your point.
I very much doubt every City fan would have voted for a white male FOC if it had been an open ballot. I’m sure the club would have picked a diverse CM’s panel from the candidates and the votes cast. I don’t need to know if a person is male, female, young, old, white, black, Asian, disabled, straight, gay, bisexual, etc. As long as they are all City fans, and are willing to represent the fans, and not to be swayed by the club, that‘s good enough for me.
Maybe it’s just a pet hate of mine, but I hate it when people are pigeon holed for whatever reason.
