City monitoring the forum

It's naive to think that organisations, City included, don't monitor public forums and social media platforms for information that directly affects their business.

Apropos of not much, I have to regularly check a forum on behalf of a client in the hospitality industry, it's similar to Tripadvisor but it features information about prostitutes, rating their 'performance' but also the meeting places. My client needs to know if their establishment is mentioned so it can alert staff to be on the lookout for working girls (and boys).

It's the bleakest site imaginable, think Bluemoon match day forum stripped of the warmth and patient understanding but with added lingua franca and explicit details of shenanigans.
True. I work for a well known online bookmaker, bonus abusers are the scourge of my life. I often visit the forums and social media groups they hang out in looking for those dumb enough to use the same username/email address as they do for their online account so I can cut them off.

If true it is sadly not surprising. Our club has continuously tried to alienate the fans for some years now and it shows no sign of improving. When we got the small win around pricing I stated and feared that we will lose the war ultimately. After that, fans are being moved for hospitality, facial recognition turnstiles installed, number of games to attend as a season ticket holder increased, obstacles to transfer tickets to others introduced, warnings to fans for selling on for face value amongst probably more things. I get the need to want to increase match day revenue and such like but fuck me where will they be when many start walking away?

I think the fact these were Away tickets is quite crucial, why did you leave that out of the original message.
I'd have thought that it was plainly obvious, seeing as though he posted it the day after the Villa game. Well it seemed obvious to me anyway. I can't speak for anyone else who isn't capable of joining the dots.

As to the OP, I've no idea whether this is or isn't true but he did post in the ticket forum in the days leading up to the match that he'd be using his brother's ticket. If he is indeed called Felix and he does indeed live in Normandy and he is on City's database then it won't be too dificult for the club to narrow it down and identify who he and his brother are - I assume they both have the same surname and may well be on each other's friends and family list too. The club are actively monitoring the Facebook face vale ticket pages so I'm sure they're actively monitoring the ticket forum on here too.

I do wonder why he wanted to go in the lower tier though - I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that they only sell alcohol in the lower tier of the away end at Villa Park ;)

Presumably a hotel, and if so it’s what are they seeking to achieve from this?

Commission.

No, not really. It's so the owners can tell reception staff and duty managers to keep an eye out for suspicious behaviour, not just from the prostitutes and their customers but also the attendant characters, pimps and drug dealers.

It's gone on for years, I once had a 2.00am call from an irate managing director of a hotel in Blackpool asking me to let the night porter know that his wife was 'not a fucking prostitute' and to let her in at once. In fairness to the porter, she did look like a prostitute.

a happy and quiet missus? wonder what thats like

It's a Utopia we can all dream of mate, to be fair it does help being profoundly deaf because cocking an ear doesn't do me a right lot of good.

She's not that bad if she's not focused on not remembering that she left me somewhere:)

I hadn't realised this was a Villa Away incident either to be fair - but to be seen squeaky clean between PL clubs is a given really, any club can 'sweep under the carpet' what goes on amongst its own fans if they so want...

I can do it on your behalf mate and flag if there's anything unusual... just to help out a friend - no personal interest in the topic obvs.

Remember that belting out at the Orbit in Morley one night. Must have been 1993 or 1994. Not a tune one would normally associate with that club, as it was a bit tamer than most of the output, but it actually worked really well with that set.
Yeah, I mean the version I’ve posted there is slightly ‘firmer’ than the original that hit the charts, so I can kind of see it.
Orbit, some night that!

It certainly is. I also suspect that some pundits have accounts on forums for every club that they cover, so they can make some comments that ingratiate themselves to the supporters.

I don’t understand the need to alienate and annoy the core fan base. Trying to appeal to tourist fans I get for money reasons, but that’s only going to last for so long… we could become rubbish again or these fans looking for a one off trip to watch city will run out surely… there are only so many people in the world!

Diddums - poor bookies...

That's really big of you. Thanks.

In all seriousness, the site is a real eye-opener, incredibly bleak in places but very funny in others. The punters go into exquisite detail about the girls, their habits, where they met, speciality services and the like. They say whether they felt safe or if the pimps were nearby, how the girls wanted to be paid, what the cleaning facilities are like, even commenting on whether the quality of the snacks and drinks were up to scratch.

So that’s what Supporters Services are doing when we have to spend hours in the phone waiting for them to answer.
Supporters services are not fit for purpose,I’ve said it for years. I don’t blame the staff but whoever is in charge needs to be f ked off out of the place.
They did that and replaced the manager with another useless manager.
