Rag, erm, those two players had less than a year left on their contracts. I know it's hard for your tiny brain to comprehend but it affects the valuation. Not saying we haven't overpaid, after all, there's the 'English tax' (a player is worth more because they're English and have premiership experience) - you're familiar with this of course from the days when you could afford to buy established English talent, then there's the 'City tax' - because we have money. I'm pretty sure you'll be qualifying for tax relief soon under the Glazers. :)

Any advance on £26m ? SSN started the price bidding at £23m, The Mail have blown them out of the water with £26m, however we have a bidder on the phone from The Sun who are willing to include the next 5 years wages in the cost price. Nope.

Ireland is a good player when played "in the hole".

However, that is Tevez's space, and there is no question who deserves to play out of the two.

Ireland in any other position, he either can't or won't put the work in, and will go bitchin to the press.

In Milner we have a player of a similar high standard, but who is far more willing, versatile and consistent.

And the fact that so many mistook you for a rag says more about your attitude than our mistake.

James Milner will be the best signing of the season for us, even if he isn't as exciting as David Silva or Mario Balotelli. His workrate and energy in midfield is desperately needed and he is so versatile he can adapt to any formation whether it's a diamond, 4-4-2 or 4-3-3. With Milner, Y.Toure and Barry in the middle of the park I can't see us losing too many games, especially when you consider we have De Jong and Michael Johnson (hopefully coming back in the new year) to cover for injuries or suspensions. We have so many options now it's frightening, now it's down to Mancini to get the best out of the them.
