I wouldn't class it as a gastro pub.
Just a standard pub that serves food.

In the 80s and early 90s it was no competition to the Windmill
However around 2001 it was bought and really Improved
Idk about gastro as I haven't had a meal there, but am saying it's a lot better than it was in days gone by after renovation was completed

Hi. Looking to watch the match at a pub but want a City orientated pub if possible. Where best in Tameside please? Ideally Denton, Stalybridge or Ashton-under-Lyne. Thanks

It will be on in the Sycamore next to Stamford park, will be Blues in there. Also the Hunters in Stalybridge is s Blue pub on match days.

sun inn always has city on, not quite the same since Bill passed away but still has tha game on, it's my pub of choice when watching an away game on the box

The Sun Inn Audenshaw. Marie is still a season ticket holder (Bill sadly passed away last year). She doesn't stand any messing around and is quite sensible. I go in fairly often.
