To be fair he has a point, it wasn't said how the media are portraying it anyway (shock, horror) but that year at Birmingham did Joe the world of good.

he wasn't exactly a calamity keeper before he went there. he'd just played a major part in england under 21's reaching a championship final.

we don't OWE them, they forget they got a bloody good keeper for free for a year when they first come back up and he helps them finish top 10.
They owe us, we're happy he developed a lot and thank them, but he was a still a good keeper regardless and if he wasn't our number 1 now then somebody else top quality would be, if not Shay we'd have bought someone.
