What everyone should realise about this, is the contorted faces and the look of expectant hope on their faces was borne out of one thing:

It wasn't that they'd won the league on the last day of the season. It wasn't because they were about to arrive at twenty titles. It was because they'd stopped City making all their nightmares come true. Because the rules of their universe were still intact.

Whatever happened last season, whatever had gone before, everything changed in that moment. Captured for posterity by our friends at Sky and projected to a wider world by means of a online population that hate united.

You've got to love the internet.

There's a lot more truth in that than they will ever care to admit mate, and I'd say a similar thing in regards to the FA cup semi-final (and maybe the seeds were sewn there), it wasn't about them getting to the final, it was about stopping us, many knew how important us winning that first trophy was, I think it was Mourinho who said about winning the first trophy is the most important, no matter what it was, and he was right.

Interesting that the RAF were taking pics of our place, but the Luftwaffe were dropping ordnance on the swamp!

Circa 1968. I could have been one of those little kids in the pic!

Shop at the Dalton Ave end of Maine Rd. Known to me as Sutton's at the time. Again, ca. 1968.

The wallpaper for my smartphone. I'll probably never change it...
That is an interesting picture when you think about it. One of the most popular members of the current squad, along with three that, to put it mildly, polarises opinion!
