seems to me that these policemen are united fans! twats!

"Club captain Kolo Toure and team-mates Shaun Wright-Phillips, Patrick Vieira, Stephen Ireland and Shay Given were each given £30 fixed penalty notices as they arrived at the club's Carrington training complex.

Police and Vehicle Operator Services Agency officers swooped when they spotted goalkeeper Given in his £120,000 Bentley Continental on nearby Carrington Lane. They followed him to City's car park - and then pounced on several shocked stars.

Each player whose vehicle was found to have windows darker than the legal level was told they would have to wind down the windows until they were fixed if they wanted to carry on driving".

1) £30 pounds is peanuts to them.
2) If there breaking the law then why shouldnt they be fined like the general public

No what happend is they followed Stevie's new Bentley in, scraped the tinted sticker off and then waited at the front entrance for other players, then they caught Shay and Shaun. Bridge and a few other players drove round to the back entrance of carrington to avoid them.

If you read the story,it was VOSA, the Vehicle Operating and Services Agency who were carrying out the operation. Same ones who do the weigh bridge testing on motorways. The police were there to assist.

Never let facts get in the way of a good rant

Agreed

but i'd much rather VOSA tracked down more regularly those driving without tax or insurance as that is more likely to affect me than a few driving round in darkened cars
