If they were breaking the law then they should be done for it! It has nothing to do with the police being United fans, not all coppers are out chasing murderers all the time they all have certain assignments. I would imagine it's not beyond the realms of reality to think that somewhere else in the vast city of Manchester and it's surrounding areas there are other Police officers doing what I imagine you would call real Police work.

If you read the story,it was VOSA, the Vehicle Operating and Services Agency who were carrying out the operation. Same ones who do the weigh bridge testing on motorways. The police were there to assist.

Never let facts get in the way of a good rant
Agreed

but i'd much rather VOSA tracked down more regularly those driving without tax or insurance as that is more likely to affect me than a few driving round in darkened cars

Not if they run you over at night because they can`t see you it won`t

I guess it's about "priority of resources."

Try ringing 999 if you've had your windscreen trashed or your shed robbed-and then see then how quickly they respond.

And you can bet your life they'll have been telling their mates at the station who they "did" today!

A Blues spokeswoman said : "We would like to thank GMP for bringing these transgressions to our attention. We are also delighted to confirm that they were all corrected by that afternoon."

Am I the one who reads this in a sarcastic manner?
