City pubs Wilmslow

Thanks very much for the suggestions everyone

That’s the best bet imo
What a shame the late great andyhinch isn’t around to offer his wisdom on his specialist subject in that part of the world
Andy would have been all over this thread, and by now would have been rounding up a party to meet up in one of the pubs mentioned to watch the games. I just hope he's watching the culmination of the season from somewhere.

Best bet in Wilmslow is the Kings Arms on the roundabout, owner is a big blue, or the Carters round the corner although you will get a mix of blues and reds in there but I think the owner is a blue too. Used to be anyway.

Pretty sure I was in that Kings Head the other week. A Robby’s pub about five minutes first right out of the train station?

If it is the same place, it didn’t look much of a pub for watching football? I only noticed one TV in a little alcove on the right as you come in. Rest of the place looked more food orientated.

The Kings Arms, yeah. Used to go in there a fair bit to watch away matches. They had a projector and would roll a big screen down. Maybe it’s changed since I was in last but if it’s the same owner, he’s a big blue and I’d be sure he’d still do the same. Failing that though, the Carters Arms is a short walk and was always a good boozer on match day.

Fair enough mate. It was the one and only time I’ve been in there. Just struck me as a place that was more interested in attracting diners than a football crowd but I really don’t know.

The Kings Arms had a refurb about 2 yesrs ago and i doubt they show football in there these days. Could be wrong.

The Carters is a decent shout I caught some of the Leipzig game in there this season it was a mix in there though.

The one to the right is the King William.
The kings Arms is on the roundabout to the left of the station past Sainsbury’s.
It is the only City pub in Wilmslow.
The owner,James is a big City fan and going to Wembley.
The pub is actually used as part of the Wilmslow OSC for Monday night meetings, in the attached Thai restaurant (they do bar food).
They don’t have SKY,but if the cup final is on terrestrial TV it will be on and full. There are 3 or 4 TVs
They also have a band on most Saturday nights.
Just stay off the Veltins it’s lethal.

Right out of the station is the King William

Alternatively for Wilmslow there is the sports bar in Hickory’s
Which is just down Altrincham Road
If you want to go there you will need to phone up and book a table as it will be rammed with both sets of fans
