good!! the asking price is £50million.... that like doing the shopping at tesco and the till lady saying '£50 please' and you replyin with 'ill give you £35, take it or leave it!?'....... you would be very hungry that week!

The asking price is 50m and we got offered 35m if we accepted the offer it'd make us look like mugs and a team who can get taken advantage of in the transfer market. good on city for declining the offer shows teams they can't sit and piss us arround

Good. This whole deal has a gigantic whiff about it, as the Guardian suggests this morning.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2011/jul/12/carlos-tevez-corinthians-manchester-city" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog ... ester-city</a>

If I were City, I'd have serious concerns about getting my money back. Corinthians have a new stadium to pay for, and there is no way they can fund this move without substantial 3rd party involvement. The Guardian suggests that that slippery fucker Joorabchian would likely buy back a part share of the player (still legal in Brazil apparently), and personally I'd then give it a year before the player was sold back to Europe for a fat profit with his 'family problems' miraculously resolved. Either way, any deal would come with more strings than a violin shop, and we would be wise to steer clear. The fact that Joorabchian is talking it up in such fashion, should tell you he'll be the one to benefit.
