City to expand Etihad to 62,000?

with this new expanding to both stands I would love the club to bring back pay on the gate to games that are is not big games

we always had a very big walk up base of fans who are thinking about going to the game and then just call there mates to see if they are coming
it could add 2.000 to 3.000 who are not members who just like going every now and then

I used to work on the gate's at maine road and was great for fans who don't have time in the week to pick up tickets or just like to go every now and then
it just needs to be worked right and the club can say if they are going to be pay on the gate the night before a game

Looking at the planner tomorrow's game is just about to sell out.
Maybe the club will announce it's a sell out and then release details of the expansion 5 minutes later?

Desperately need this type of concept reintroduced to the modern game.

Dont know if anyone listened to the h and j show on talksport. They were talking that woodward guy from the other lot backing the rail seats/safe standing idea. They went on to mention about our plans and if this could be brought in how would effect the expansion. Didnt hear the end as daughter starred screaming for her tea.

Just wondered if small area of safe standing are brought in could the capcity could be increased without major redevelopment.

I wonder if as part of the upgrade they are installing fake spectators instead of seats. With fully moving arms and little speakers to make noise

Rail seats are unlikely to increase capacity, I could see the authorities allowing them but only on the basis of the same capacity as for "seated" games such as the CL.

Similar to the comments on SSN they're mostly made by children (or adults with a child's mentality) so are best just totally ignored.

Don't they have 669 million die hard fans who go to every match and who all live in Greater Manchester?
