City to expand Etihad to 62,000?

We should be forcing season ticket holders to attend - if you can't go, you must post your ticket for resale. (There will always be emergencies - those can be dealt with)

How about split season tickets - a premium for the top 6 games and a cheap seat for the remainder. Let the glory hunters go to the "good" games and a real fan have the benefit of a cheap seat for the remainder.

It’s their own fault!

City moved everyone out of the North Stand to create the failure that has been the Family Stand and they pissed fans off by moving them to more expensive seats or not moving them with friends+family they had sat with in the North, in some cases could not provide them with a new seat at all because there weren’t enough spare. They lost the match going support of a number of fans by doing these things.

City put prices up too high too soon and pissed people off or priced them out. They lost the match going support of a number of fans by doing this.

City put SeasonCard prices up too high so fans took themselves out of the Cup Schemes. They lost the Cup match going support of a number of fans by doing this.

City put SeasonCard prices up too high so fans think they can pick and choose games to go to so they can afford the day out more, less often.

City introduced cheap tickets after people had already decided to quit their support because of being priced out. City introduced cheap tickets but not enough to meet demand. They are not maximising matchday attendances by not providing enough cheap tickets. At Bayern they have 12000 cheap SeasonCards, how many do you reckon we have? A few dozen? A few hundred at most?

City moved people out of particular areas of the ground to create corporate areas and they pissed fans off by moving them to more expensive seats or not moving them with friends+family they had sat with, in some cases could not provide them with a new seat at all because there weren’t enough spare. They lost the match going support of a number of fans by doing these things.

They price Cup tickets too high. My ticket for Liverpool was £45, I know four SC holdes who didn’t bother going because of the price. It was only a quarter final, not a semi, there was no need for that price!
Fuck me do you just moan about City??

Agree with this. Our fans' age-profile ( I am one of the old gits) is a factor. I have missed a few games due to health reasons in recent years and so have some of my pals. It's not just a season ticket price issue because most of the few empty seats are season ticket non-attenders. I think general admission should certainly be cheaper for younger fans. The TV deal should have a clause which forces all clubs to provide cheaper tickets. The money could be ringfenced and kept as low as £10 for under 25s.

Me too, I like to kid myself I am not but I am lol!

Midweek games for me are almost a no go now due to how difficult it is to get home as local buses cease at 22:20 so I have to add another £8-10 onto the cost for a taxi.

All these issues raised and more are obviously a problem otherwise there would be no empty seats. We are playing the best football I have ever seen and having the most success trophy wise but people are still missing games. In 20 years if we stay successful it will probably take care of it's self.

Until there is a total rethink on season ticket and matchday ticket prices at City, the stadium will never be full apart from the big matches. And even those matches aren't always full, even though they are sold out on the OS.

Unfortunately our sensible and justified complaints, or is 'concerns' a better word, are falling on deaf ears. Season after season we discuss and post about the same things. But season after season they are ignored by City and the opposite happens in the name of driving matchday revenue.

Only once since Sheikh Mansour bought City have season ticket and matchday tickets been frozen. 8 or 9 price rises. I stand corrected on that. Then block and row pricing was introduced. And fans have been moved here there and everywhere to accommodate new corporate areas and fans.

OK, City have introduced limited cheap season tickets. And have sold cheap tickets to fill the Etihad for certain cup games.

Honestly though, wouldn't it be great if City reviewed all season ticket and matchday ticket prices. Froze them, or even better reduced them to an all around affordable level. Now all the corporate areas are finished, it would be good if the fans were left alone, and were allowed to stay in the areas of the stadium they want to stay in, so they can build up friendships with other City fans around them. That improves the atmosphere as well.

Let's have a period in the clubs history where the fans are put first, instead of driving stadium and matchday revenue, which has been put first over the fans for the last few years. With TV and sponsorship money piling in, asking the fans to dip deeper again into their pockets shouldn't be a consideration in the coming years, let alone done.

Please!

Moving "normal" fan to accommodate the "corporate experience", I don't see as an issue, as hopefully the corporate seats will be used to subsides for reduced ticket prices for other sections, so in the long run, its may be for the greater good. To have the best seats and still pay low prices, just doesn't add up on any business level.

I can't see how there will be a freeze this season, as we have just smashed the league and played some of the best football the prem has ever seen, but i think with this in mind it would be a great signal from City to freeze/reduce prices, and as Kompany has stated, a fuller stadium, which will be achieved by a lower ticket price, will look better, improve atmosphere and in turn be a better selling point to corporate customers, if you have a better experience. Sales of food and drink would also increase, but not sure if bars are still controlled/ran by the club.

Playing devils advocate, when they have reduced the ticket price to great price, especially for the standard we play, and the teams we are playing (Champs league teams), they have not sold out. So why would you reduce the price and not sell a lot, than keeping the price the same and have the same number turn up?

Why don't the club allocate say level 3 of a newly expanded North Stand to be wholly season tickets but sold on a ten-nine basis that is you buy a season ticket for the first TEN games of the season for £400 then your ticket expires. You are then replaced by those who have bought season tickets for the last nine games of the season for the same price. Those who bought theirs for the first ten games are likely to continue to want to attend some or all of the remaining games and buy match tickets. They are also less likely to miss matches as they can book hols etc around half a season ie the half of the season for which they don't have a ticket. It also makes football affordable to fans previously priced out of wanting to be a season ticket holder. Just an idea.

Oh I wish.
Without better dialogue between the club and season ticket holders I can’t see it though.

Out of interest, when you buy your ticket several days/weeks in advance, how do you reliably know whether it’s going to rain or not?
Erm I dont, particularly when it comes down sidewards. Its a gamble as to where the seat is and which way the wind is blowing. Sometimes I cant be arsed if the weather is bad even if I have bought a ticket. I see it as a donation to the cause. My age and other interests make me a fair weather fan.

You could use the loyalty points scheme to reward those who attend. Award extra points when a ticket is used or deduct points when it isn’t or award points on a sliding scale, ie fewer points for attending the derby and more points for attending stoke.
