MOTM for me was Delph, very impressed with his effort again.

Also impressed with Nolito, Zinchenko, KDB and Zabaletta. Hope we see Sterling growing even further in confidence.

Hart is sloppy and his days are sadly numbered.

you are easily impressed then as Nolito was mostly anonymous and delph was average and cant play simple passes

hart is the fall guy as its not fashionable on here to call out the young defender who has made the same mistake now in the last couple games (playing blind passes across his edge of his area)

agree on sterling and zinchenko

I know it was only pre-season friendly but the intensity was quite high. It clearly demonstrated that we're lacking in gk, Fb, CB and cm.we've got Gundogan and stones to come but the other areas need addressing in the transfer market asap.

I think Kolarov, Zabba & Silva are all off the pace & it will be interesting to see how much they can improve. All 3 were responsible for the first goal along with Hart. Slva not pressing & the other two just too slow. The 3rd even though it was a dogshit pass from Tosin, it would have been an easy recovery for any of the usual cbs maybe even Demichelis.

Kolarov Zabba & Silva all look like they have lost 2 yards of pace over the past year to me.

Yaya who has supposed to be past it, looks yards ahead of all 3 imo.

I think Joes days may be numbered under pep and this may have been playing on his mind for quite some time and affected his game.
If that's pep's decision then we have to roll with it.
Alternatives
What about kasper?
Great with his feet and classed as home trained I think

Adarabioyo is clearly not ready. He has the physique, but not the experience and intelligence.

Yeah laughable people saying we didn't need to buy a CB and just play him. He is nowhere near ready and throwing him in the deep end won't be any good for his career.

This time last year we got walloped 4-1 at Stuttgart.
We then went on to win our 1st 5 games...
However it could be a Keegan type season with our defence as it was today.

Have to agree with many post we need to get rid of all the old, no point 1 or 2. If we cant shift them, then play the youth. Its the same ones letting us down all the time.

I can only think this is peps plan. Show everyone how bad some are. A few weeks left of the transfer market. Fingers crossed. We need 2 out 2 in. Get the Stones deal wrapped up now!

Just hope we see the real pep team next week. Im sure he's learned what he needed today and todays game will set us up well moving forward.

At least we will have a realistic mindset for next week now. I know I will.

The important game starts next week. C'mon City

Obvously our defending was atrocious but at least Pep will have learnt a bit from that performance. Plus points are KDB looks like he's never been away and Kolarov will never play CB ever again.

Hopefully another week's training, different CBs and we will be OK next week.

Think Hart will start next week. It's too drastic to drop him at the start of the season. He's on borrowed time though.

Toure looked good to me.

lots of work and a few new players needed......a centre half and a left back to start with

big wake up call for Pep (hopefully he already knew)

Navas looks much improved but there was a worrying amount of space behind him, we should never play fernando and kolorov in defense EVER
