City v Bristol City 1st leg post match

Good fightback to keep going and get the win. Drop off in quality without the first XI was stark and too many unable to step up to fill the breach. Still a big job to do at Ashton Gate. They played well and kept going forward backed by their noisy following. Finishing was off colour tonight. Sloppy as hell defending by Mangala and Stones to concede the pen. De Bruyne's energy and quality stood out a mile.

Not the best performance tonight but puts us in a great position for the 2nd leg.

MOTM Mangala by a country mile.

When Bravo playes Stones are poor and nervous, Yaya slowes everything down, and then theres is Mangala , Tosin is alot better . Mangala is just .....

what the fuck has bravo done wrong???? please just give a resonable example of this....if you want for another scapegoat apart from mangala for tonight look no further than stones

Agreed Bravo did fine this evening and got pretty close to saving a very well struck penalty. Happy for him to be the cup keeper this year - he has earned that.

Not at our best tonight and a few of the supporting cast did not offer enough. Bernardo Silva needs to be more incisive and direct and Gundogan is still proving neat and tidy but not the decisive dictating midfield we saw at Dortmund.

Little point talking about Bravo and Mangala as we know their weaknesses and they were noticeable tonight. Still another victory, lots of character and yet again continued performing right to the death. Game on for the second leg.

Superb effort from Bristol City tonight it really was and i was very impressed by them and their manager who puts most in the PL to shame.

As for the match we deserved to win and but for some poor choices with the last ball and some rank shooting we would have had a hatful i thought as we played decent enough.

Win is a win and we are looking good for the tie as it stands.
Agree with all that. Looks like it might be a good place for a couple of players to go on loan, whilst Johnsons in charge anyway.

Stones was poorer than Mangala I have to say. Zinchenko was impressive. Gundogan needs to get stuck in a bit more.

Yep, guilty as charged.

And looking at the players we have and some of our results this season, that really should have been the case against a team that just lost 5-0 to Villa and 3-0 to Watford.

If you disagree, please explain to me why?
He made 7 changes to their team against Watford in preparation for this match..
