City v Celtic post match

I've been very diplomatic as I know he's a young lad who needs time to settle in. And he came with high recommendations from respected sources, which surely counts for something. That said, I'm having difficulty believing my own eyes on what we've seen to date.

yup...just got to try and maintain patience with him...he has time but at present it looks like he would be better in the reserves and coming on as a late sub when we are comfortable

Failure to beat a very average team like Celtic in two attempts is extremely poor.

Not seen any signs of the new dawn we were promised with Pep,and our defending is simply awful.

1. You're selling Celtic short here.

2. Nobody, Pep included, said this "new dawn" would be this quick.

3. We made 9 changes from our starting XI and played a bunch of kids, but don't let that ruin your narrative.

Glimpses of great talent in Sane. Beats players with ease, rapid, direct. Needs nurturing, but will develop into a top class player. Reminds me of Bale the way he beats players.

perhaps be more patient, it really is early in his contract

Thirteen arrests so far at City v Celtic. One Celtic fan lifted earlier for throwing a hamburger at a police horse in Piccadilly Gardens.
That burger used to be the horse's mum

agree with you on Sane mate....he just looks nowhere near at present...he has time but he needs to start showing something and at present he is looking like someone who may struggle to adapt....he made need till next season to get going

He looks as if he has some real skill. Goes past players for fun and has a nice touch on the ball. Overhit a few passes but played to his strengths and allowed to settle he could be really something. He impresses me more than Sterling who has hit a dead end he doesn't look like he is going to get past.

Caballero- 6
Clichy- 4
Adarabioyo- 6
Sagna- 7
Maffeo- 7
Zabaleta- 8
Nolito- 8
Gundogan- 8
Sané- 6
Fernando- 7
Iheanacho- 8

Clichy has genuinely been worse than Kolarov this season. Never thought I'd say that.
Gundogan needs to start against Leicester, probably next to De Bruyne, not behind him.
Sané's biggest asset is his pace running in from behind and we simply aren't utilising it.
Zabaleta got into scoring positions more than once in this game and looked comfortable in midfield.
Iheanacho's next competitive goal will be his 20th for City, while a certain Mr Rashford has been stuck on 12 since September ;)

Nolito 8 ? Really? I thought he was average. I'm not keen on him mate. Too laboured.

Barca 7 Celtic 0 , City 3 Barca 1 , and we made just the nine changes tonight , whilst you played your best available eleven , good luck sleeping your way to another Scottish title , it means nowt to anybody else

No it wasn't. Tierney and Sinclair would be in. I accept you made nine changes, but, look at them. They cost over £100m.

Don't forget your first team couldn't beat us either.

A wee tad sour grapes me thinks.

You have no divine right to win. And two attempts at a shite Scottish team and you get 2 points.

It's either we are better than you give us credit for or you are a lot worse than you believe.

It can't be both.

Your shout.

but but but but celtic were the 1st british side to win it , ive got the commentary on a 78rpm vinyl from 50 years ago .
Strange as their fans hate anything British, they along with rangers are of no significance anymore to anyone outside of Scotland and n/s.ireland,you can bet if a job in the premier league became available Rodgers would be looking to be considered for it and wouldn't think twice about pissing off..

1. Don't think so they are very average, just ask Barcelona.

2. Fair point - but doesn't hide the fact that we simply can not defend since Pep arrived.

3. Hardly a bunch of kids but I do agree it had the look of a scratch team.

I think it can be both and it probably is! We are definitely not as good as I thought we were the day before we played you at Parkhead with a 10/10 win record.

Totally agree. I don't understand how some posters cannot see the skill this lad shows.
