Well he see's them both in training every day unlike yourself so he's probably better judged to have reasons that will be "unknown" to you.

A captain in the sense of how he plays/the respect he has in the game. Im sure Messi and other attacking players have been captain of their teams, its pretty normal.Would Merlin strike you as a captain? I'd have thought one of the two CBs would be more suitable as leaders on the pitch. Hey ho, I guess we need to trust MP on this. Also, I would have liked to see Kel starting the game and then look at the way the game is panning out at HT. Anyway, come on you blues!
So Kelechi won't even get a start against a championship team in the fucking cup? What's that all abou? Why the heck did we invest 200m on the youth academy? This is not only bad for Kelechi's confidence and development but also it will be very hard to make young talented players to join us.

I didn't mean picking a midfielder rather than defender as a captain; I was thinking more about the psyche of the individual players. Would Merlin be, for want of a better word, "imposing" enough to lead the side? He always comes across as a quietly spoken lad who shies away from the limelight.A captain in the sense of how he plays/the respect he has in the game.
