That central defence - hesitant, at fault on both goals, with several players mesmerised by one man. Just as well it's not our real central defence, eh?
Jovetic's touch. Four strikers out of five would have chosen to go for the near post for the first. Jovetic does not choose to do what the other four would have done. I know he's very close in, but he just strokes it with the lightest, feathery touch to leave the keeper dead. Second: by rights it's not for him. He's not alone, far from it, but he just does the necessary. Is this player as good as he promises to be? To be followed. Closely.
I'm not judging the overall match, since I only saw the highlights. There seems to be a consensus on here that we were the better team. These friendlies are a goodish build up to the serious stuff. And our four world class players (five with Zabman who, more and more, belongs in that company) are relaxing! Ok, Toure on for a bit last night. The prospect is mouth-watering.

By far and way the better team until, Yaya came on, really slowed the pace down , offered nothing in attack or defence and just lumbered around the pitch,, lost the ball / possession what seemed like every time the play went near him and took the energy right out of the team...

I'd much rather see in the new season the fast past action packed attacke we have showen last few games rather then waiting for a tuch of geniouns that may or may not come from with yaya lumbering around the midfield ...

It's a pre season friendly, YaYa has been injured and needs game time to build match fitness . The players know what the game plan is and all will be fine come 17th Aug when it matters

Navas wept! Yaya did not lose possession every time the ball came near him. In fact he played some lovely little passes despite looking like a man who had just arrived back from some time with his feet up.

Not just judging last my preference on last night m8,,, yaya lumbers around the pitch most games then explodes with pace now and again,, then sometimes delivers a stroke of genius.... What iv seen the team doing over the last few games yaya will not be able to fit in with weather he is fully fit or 25year old....

The energy running through that team over the last few games has not been seen in my opinion for a long time, if you look how the likes go Navas even Sinclair have looked playing this fast paced game,, replace just one of them explosive pressing players with yaya, and the whole things slows down becomes lopsided and I believe the Navas / Sinclair type player will / have been the one to suffer as there game is based on fast pace.. Just my opinion and nothing to do with cake gate,, just my observations after seeing last few games what I believe we haven't seen at city for a while

Navas has to start the season in my opinon, Jovetic looks a new signing but so does Navas, he looks settled, ready to go, and his pace is what we absolutely need.

Is that the same YaYa who was outstanding last season and dictates our tempo

Not really surprised at that headbanger Rodgers' summary of the game, he really is an adopted scouser, completely deluded.

"we didn't deserve to go behind" thats funny brendan becuase we smashed you in the first half, and nobody could have complained if we had been 2 or 3 up.

They had their chances in the second half, and so did we, i mean missing an open net from a yard out is pretty clear cut

We swithed off twice, and bot their goals were against the run of play, simple as that

Yet again Mr Rodgers was clearly watching a different game to me

He seriously said that ? Wow! haha. If he actually believes it then Liverpool are in for a rude awakening next season. They couldn't get the ball of us in the first half. We should have had a penalty for a blatant handball, Bruno missed an open goal etc. We fucking battered them for most of the game.
That's up with Bacon face saying the rags were the better team in the 1-6.

I can't wait to play them in the Prem. I think a proper tonking is overdue. Lets see how he spins it then.
