City v Steaua post match.

Pretty sterile match last night. Yes, we did what we had to do, and did it with the minimum of fuss.

The only real "excitement" I had last night is when I lost my footing and tumbled to the ground just as I was getting on the bus to get to my car. The only injury I had was to my pride, fortunately.

Thanks to all of you who helped me get to my feet and see me to the bus. It was and is greatly appreciated. It's not fun being old sometimes!!

Hard luck Mr crazy, if it makes you feel any better i am 34 on slipped on a slug orgy last night and went down like a sack of shite :-D

Navas, Toure and especially Delph will have done themselves no favours last night. Fernando showed we really need one more complete midfielder.

Navas can compete and his positional intelligence will see him stay another season unless we get a good offer.

Toure looked tired as always, he reminded me a little of a decent Sunday league player being asked to do one more game. Useful when the ball was at his feet. Getting it their looked pretty difficult and keeping it there was hard for him. Half down to his speed/fitness half down to the side we picked. It was his first fun out though, so I'll not give up on him just yet.

Delph, really disappointing. I like the guy and thought he may grow at City. He really struggled last night. First half it looked like he was playing left wing. Closing down their full back, starving Nolito of space and isolating Fernando. At one point I thought they'd swapped position. Delph & Nolito.
Whilst his determination and effort are pleasing, he really needs to work smarter. For me, left back is his best option of sticking around or the Fernando role from last night. He can't play where he was asked to last night. He simply doesn't get it.

It's hard to judge performances as last night was a dead game, but it's not hard to judge adaptability, understanding and application to Pep's system.
Fernando & Navas at least showed understanding and adaptability if not ability in their roles. Fernando carried out the Fernandinho role to the best of his abilities. His abilities are sadly well down.
Toure, first game, new system. I'll reserve judgement.
Delph. All over the place, charging round trying to influence the game all over the pitch. Showed great application but limited adaptability & understanding. This isn't Villa. Each player must carry out their job, or the system falls down. He has replaced Silva twice now, once as sub once starting. He needs to watch Silva try mimic his movements. Not be like him, but follow his positioning. Offer his stregnths in Silva's position. Save his power for when he has the ball. He can't dictate like Silva but he should be able to use that position to influence the play, the team.

Can anyone tell me the attendance?. I have a supporter no. so obviously I logged in to the 'new' MCFC homepage.
It might be me but the 'old' home page was easier to read and find out facts. You could click on fixtures and get a match report and details such as the 'gate'.
I have always been interested in attendances - ok , that is me - since 84,569 . City fans will know that attendance.
Tried reading BBC match report but no attendance given
Thanks.

Hi! Sorry to post this here, but I am afraid (since I am not able to start a thread) that my post will have no visibility.

Please allow to introduce myself, my name is Vlad and I am a Romanian football historian having as main interest the history of our clubs in European Cups. After years of research and collecting I have recently started (https://www.facebook.com/retrosport.ro/) and very soon on www.retrosport.ro a portal which aims to present the tickets, the programmes, the pennants and the video highlights of the Romanian clubs in Europe.

The reason I am writing to you here is to kindly ask if any of you would be so kind to help me with this project by sending me 1-2 used match tickets and programme from Manchester City - Steaua. Also if there are collectors here, I could also send team sheets/tickets from the first leg (maybe even the matchday sports newspaper - since Steaua Bucharest has not printed one match programme in 6 years).

Hoping that my message did not bother you, looking forward for a reply,
Vlad

P.S. If any of the admins could start also a thread with my message, I would be very happy, since my account is not allowed to start a thread. Thank you in advance!

mods, you cunts.

can't one of you give this guy a leg up or summat?
@Ric @Prestwich_Blue @squirtyflower @Matty @FantasyIreland @blueinsa @cleavers @et_al
would you have us looking like a right bunch of unwelcomers?

his request is going to be lost in the least ever viewed postmatchthread.

unless he's posting from chester, he seems a genuine recorder of history.
the @Gary James of dracula country.

if i'm wide of the mark here then fair enough,
just asking though.
