Suprise suprise, a midfield with De Jong plays too deep, desn't support the attack and is actually quite shit at protecting the back 4. I've Consistently said De Jong is shit and that's what I'm seeing again but I'm sure some will have seen a great display!

The reason the midfield is too deep has got nothing to do with De Jong - it's because the defence is 10-15 yards too deep, as it has been all season. Playing two defensive midfielders certainly doesn't help, but Vieira is a far bigger problem than De Jong. To say the De Jong has been shit tonight is, frankly, shit.
