City v Wigan | Post Match

Good play and a good result for City but I should think that Wigan are relieved to be out of the competition. I heard they had 9 changes from the weekend (us 10) and they have enough to deal with with the obligatory Europa League games whilst they're trying to get back into the Premier League.

Serious competition for ourselves, United and Liverpool. It may be United's and Liverpool's only route into European football next season! - alternatively, if a CL qualifier such as City win it and the EL place goes by PL position. Important that our competitors are in Europe next year as it will tire them out!

The rags and red dippers aren't both going to do well in the League Cup.

They're playing each other tonight!

Great result and performance last night.
Of course it's only Wigan but as stated previously we can only beat what is put in front of us.
I liked how the boss brought on Yaya,Navas,Negredo in the second half....

Interesting to see Coyle blaming soft goals....after Rooney claiming Sunday was down to their bad defending.

I wonder how many other teams will blame themselves in these circumstances and how May will credit us.

Agree. I bet a few sides are bricking it now and lining up the press conference excuses already.

Sorry, that should have been "United's or Liverpool's". Obviously no two teams can qualify for the EL as League Cup winners!

I wonder if it was always the plan to play Ferny first half and YaYa second.

Whether it was or not, it worked very well.

Im not sure about that.Think they will both be starting on Saturday.Never in a million years did I expect to see Yaya,Negredo and Navas come on.

I'm not happy for you... I had Dzeko and 4-0 (33's) !! Oh and Sunday I had Aguero 3-1 (50's)

Ah fuck it...well done ;)

I had Dzeko and 4-0, as you say at 33-1, plus on sunday i had 4-0 at 55-1 absolutely gutted when Rooney and now Jesus scored.... ah well at least we're winning in style.

The dilemma between City winning by more and losing out on big money!!! A pal of mine won £4000 on Aguero first scorer and 4-1 at the weekend. Think he had it at odds of 200-1.

Was working last night so missed the game - just saw the goal highlights that Shadygiz put up (thanks) and how composed was Negredo for the final pass to Navas - if that had been Wooney/van rapist/Wiltshire the media would be creaming themselves about it. Absolute beautiful piece of technique. Rapidly becoming my favourite player for us - technically excellent with the power to flatten Huth and hold camelgob off like a child - what's not to like?!!
